all kidding aside, it looks like VERY cool modern space, with some old school style (like the huge window)

did you see alot of other condos before you saw this one?

The building is from 1928 and is on the US National Register of Historic Places:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...n_Exchange

The lofts were converted in 2005. So yes, it's exactly old and exactly new. lol.

I looked at lots and lots and lots of houses and condos before I picked this one. In fact, my realtor didn't think I'd even want to live here as it's not the neighborhood I had in mind or had been looking in. But when I walked in I fell in love with it. And the price was right. It was a foreclosure, which is the only way I could afford to live in this building. There are other 1 bedrooms for sale in the place listed at twice the price I paid. I really got an excellent deal, I just have to put a little bit of work into it to make it "livable".

i love the building.
if your final coat of paint is going to be white, I would recommend Benjamin Moore China White flat/matte. It has that stone gray/white to it, like raw unglazed porcelain or china or if you break a piece of china or porcelain and look at the broken edges. Or like raw plaster.

I don't know yet. redface That's my homework for this week. I know I want to do light pink in the bathroom, that's all I have picked out. (Although now that I've seen johnart's black bathroom I reconsidering. That might look frickin' awesome in my bathroom too.) Maybe I could do the pink for the bedroom...

I've been thinking about cream and lime green or grey and red for the mainroom. My problem is my furniture is all black, then I have a pink computer desk and end table. My kitchen table and chair set is red and black. How do you figure out walls that go with all of those?

Everyone has suggested Benjamin Moore paint to me, so that's defnitely the brand I'm going with. Now I just have to pick out the shades...
