started using it as a 15 yo back in 1985 as a "handle" on call back radio. when i joined the org, it seemed natural to me to dust it off and start using it again seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

Mine's really boring... I tried about 20 different usernames - and each and every one of them had already been taken. It was so frustrating.
In the end, I just opted for what was Prnce's most recent album at the time, thinking I could change it. I only found out afterwards that you can't so it's stuck ever since... there's no mystery to it.

Scandalous is my favorite Prince slow jam (the long version of course). When I pledged in college, I chose Scandalous as my line name and I convinced all my line sisters to pick Prince songs as their names too. So everybody on campus knew me as Scandalous.
When I bought my first car a few years later, I wanted personal plates but I had to shorten Scandalous to six letters because that was the max number of characters on Texas license plates. So, I came up with SCNDLS. People IRL have been calling me Scandalous for about 18 years now.

I've had a gazillion names but this is the only one that really stuck. I think I had an alter way back when called 'fauxnewbie'. In the chat this got shortened to fauxie. First I started an account as just 'Faux' but later decided to go with 'Fauxie' since people were calling me that. It feels like a real nickname now and not just something stupid and meaningless confined to the org.
Also, it's from 'faux', like from French and shit.

My name is Julie Whitehead. My favorite color is purple and Prince is my favorite artist who has the song Purple Rain. So Whitehead became Purplehead. I didn't think about purplehead being another name for a throbbing dick until a good month after being on here.
