People SUCK! On the train I often see a a blind man get on the train asking for money. He always starts off his speech saying he doesn't use the money for drugs or alcohol and could people please help him. Sometimes to prove he's blind, he'll pull the fake eyes out of his head and stand there with the open eye holes.
So he gets on and is asking for money and these two women are in front of me. One asks if he's really blind and the other one says "Yes, he's blind! He pulled out his eyes in front of my kid! Oh my God, it was disgusting! Why they hell are you gonna do that in front of kids?!" Then the other lady asks "Does he do anything special for the money"? I honestly wanted to crack both their heads together. I said "well considering that he has no eyeballs, his being able to actually make it to the train and walk the streets without eyesight should be special enough". Stupid witch just looked at me incredulously People are so jaded that their biggest concerns is their own sensitivity and that someone should perform circus tricks in order to gain their help. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

SOME people suck

People infuriate me.
Just now, I was at a Subway restaurant, and all 3 girls working there were brand new, probably within their first week of employment there. Poor things, clearly had NO training by their slob of a manager, who insisted on yelling at one of them because she didn't know that the beeping meant the bread was baked. She was going on and on about how this one's so stupid, and the other's so clueless. And all the while she was moping at the register, while shouting at the three, who barely knew what they were doing. I tried chatting them up, one told me it was her third day there, and she already hated her life. I really felt for her. I had ordered a 6" but she heated up enough chicken for a foot long.. The bitch started muttering and was like "Uhmmmmm, you KNOW you only need one piece. Don't ever do that again. Put it back where you got it." So she made this girl put back an already heated piece of chicken back with the cold pieces - which i find wrong. And had I the money, I'd pay extra just so she didn't have to. All this took place in front of a very large line. When I got my food and payed, I told her "For the record, it's best you don't scream at your employees infront of customers." She replied with "Well, it's a restaurant." I said "I don't care! When you do that, it looks bad on you and the restaurant. Take that into consideration." It took me everything in my big hungry body not to jump over that counter and shove her head in that toasting oven, that sloppy cow. The newbie made a damn good sub too. I'm sure she was fumbling for a response to attach to that. But NO TIME FOR FOOLS. I hope she feels guilty for how she's acting - and as manager! Shit like that gets me so angry - an honest mistake shouldn't be met with anger and impatience, what good does that do for anyone? [...i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...]

To play devil's advocate here, it is very easy to be cynical and jaded because there are so many "homeless" people who beg for money who are just scamming. So, to be equal, I don't give money to anyone outside begging, blind or not. There are programs out there to help the homeless...

Well this is very diplomatic of you. I am selective of who I help but if the need is in front of my face and I can do something about it, I do. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I think I might suck too...something about the "Eek" emoticon is amusing to me, and used in correlation with what you just said in that sentence--I totally laughed out loud for like two minutes. Anyways, it might be wrong, but I tend to give money to people who do something that entertains me or makes me smile. Like when people come through the subway asking for money, I usually don't give any, despite their sad stories. But recently I was on a train and this guy came on and started playing guitar. He was pretty funky. Then he looked at me and said, "Wait, this is probably more your style," and he started playing BJ Thomas. It was funny. He got money.

Well I have to admit the first time he did that, my heart totally jumped because I wasn't expecting it. So now when he gets on the train, if I can tell he's going to pull out those fake eye discs, I scan the crowd and watch people's reactions. Watching that shit is totally worth the price of admission 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Yes, yes they do.
And if you're lucky, you'll come across a girl that can do it right. • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.
