OMG!!! I think I'm in love . . .

Helloooo, Lover!!! love

The New Maserati GranCabrio to Premiere in Frankfurt (A year late but worth the wait) woot!

The Maserati GranCabrio, the first four-seater convertible in the Trident carmaker's history, will make its world wide debut on September 15 at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.

The introduction of the GranCabrio – the Trident’s third prong – completes Maserati’s product line-up that now consists of three different families of models: Quattroporte, GranTurismo, GranCabrio.

The GranCabrio represents the very essence of Maserati in terms of open-top cars. It’s a Maserati in the purest sense of the word: from the unmistakable style by Pininfarina to the spacious interior, from the craftsmanship of each detail to the driving pleasure and performance. The Maserati GranCabrio enriches all five senses in a shared open-air experience, without sacrificing comfort and performance. A dream car designed and built for men and women who love to live life in an understated – though sophisticated - manner. Like all the made in Maserati open-top convertibles: special cars aimed at refined connoisseurs.

In fact the GranCabrio is continuing the Maserati tradition in open-top cars, joining models that have played such an important part in the Modena carmaker’s history such as the 1950 A6G Frua Spyder, 1960 3500GT Vignale Spyder, 1964 Mistral Spyder, 1968 Ghibli Spyder and 2001 Spyder designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car that marked Maserati’s return to the United States. In the footsteps of tradition, the GranCabrio opens a new chapter, because never before have four-seater top-down models ever been produced at the Viale Ciro Menotti Maserati factory. Four proper seats, so that the rear passengers are not merely supporting actors, but co-stars of the journey.

The GranCabrio is powered by a 4.7 liter V8, 323 kW engine and is the convertible with the longest wheelbase on the market. The GranCabrio’s roof is strictly canvas-made, emphasizing the link with the Maserati tradition.

The Maserati GranCabrio will be marketed starting next winter, and experienced by customers the world over from the following spring.

Maserati GranCabrio marks a new and important chapter in Maserati’s history. It is a Maserati unlike any seen before.
Imagine being at the roadside on the Via Emilia - the heart of a region famed for its motoring links - on a cool summer morning. You hear the unmistakable sound of an engine before a powerful car appears. On the car’s grille sits the Maserati badge. The car is a cabriolet. There can be no mistake: it is the GranCabrio.

The name, GranCabrio, evokes Maserati’s renowned traditions and experience, tying the new vehicle to the GranTurismo concept and bringing to life past GranSports. At the same time, the name underlines how much the car differs from every model that has preceded it. The GranCabrio redefines the idea of a cabriolet.

The open-top, four-seater GranCabrio offers the chance to share a fantastic driving experience with those you love, one enhanced by top quality materials, the aroma of prestigious woods and refined leather. GranCabrio is Maserati’s exclusive take on the need to live exciting experiences in company as opposed to the mania of owning things just for the sake of it.

GranCabrio is designed for those who take pleasure from good taste and who appreciate Italian power and elegance. However, they do not want to be limited by using the car just as a couple or not being able to at all because there is a new addition to the family. In the GranCabrio the joy of sharing experiences reaches previously unattainable heights.

Come back on 15th September to discover all the details of the GranCabrio!

I want exclusive but that's a lil too exclusive. I need to be able to take my car for servicing. lol Besides, it's too flashy for my tastes and I could buy a BMW with the same engine for about $400,000 less.

What do you thing about this car tho?

I know. He suggested it because it's a four seater (kinda) and available now unlike the Maserati which won't be in production til next year and in the US til 2011. pout

hmph! Too damn boring and you see Bimmers and Benzes all day long, everyday. bored yawn

I want the perfect balance between styling, performance, price, and exclusivity. The Maserati fits me to a T. Plus I must always have a rag-top convertible. geek

The only thing missing is a real manual with a clutch but no one is doing that anymore at this level. pout

I can't get past paying 6 figures for that M6 convertible with an aesthetic that's about as sexy and jazzy as white paint, vanilla ice cream, and Wonder bread. hmph! lol

Last year. I'm not even questioning the performance cuz that's ALWAYS on point with the Bimmers. But that ride has ZERO curb appeal, pimpability, OR seat moistening-ation. drooling

Sorry, honey, but THIS bored

just ain't as jazzy as this is tonk lol

I'd agree from a looks point of view. As I have gotten older, I see myself toning things down a bit...the Mas is HAWT but I'm stuck in my ways.

I was too. You know I'ma bimmer girl at heart but I can't pay that price and not get extremely excited about every aspect of the vehicle. That traditional German styling is starting to be somewhat of a detriment IMO. That's why I decided not to get another bimmer and just wait on the Maserati. Besides it's jazzy enough without trying too hard and still understated. thumbs up!
