dave makes me laugh even when hes talking bollox, and katt is a bit hit or miss for me with his standup but i like him in the movies, can't stand chris rock full stop. [Edited 8/31/09 22:15pm]

I think Dave is straight funny no matter what. Kat, funny though he may be, is a bit crass at times and he cusses too much and not in a pryor kind of way which is very funny. Chris is more of a story teller and he relies heavy on Paul Mooney for his material I hear.
They all have me rolling but I'm not sure which comedian is the best. Like if I could only see one live or if I had to watch one comedy special over and over...which one would it be. I just don't know.

I can't bring myself to watch Kat Williams so I really can't say if he's funny or not, but the little stuff I've seen him in doesn't make me laugh & I cannot get over that tacky-ass pimp suit
I'd say Chris when he's really on his game (which he hasn't been lately), but Dave ain't that far behind. Love those 2

I can't get into Dave's stand up.....but his show was pretty funny. Everytime I'd watch his stand up, he'd seem too nervous. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

There is NOTHING about Kat Williams that I like. I don't think he's funny and He uses the N word way too much for my taste. Loud + profanity does not = funny.
He should stick to voice over work. Chappelle is fucking BRILLIANT and is right up there with Pryor and Murphy as a stand up. Chris Rock is really funny too. His humor is insightful and hits home but he's not the comedic actor that Dave is.

Chris. As far as I'm concerned, he's one of the all-time greats.

Chris is a great storyteller, Dave is very insightful. Katt is a hit or miss for me; often he relies too much on cursing and being crass to get a laugh and sometimes fails miserably. I can roll with the first two consistently, while Williams I can only watch his stand-up performances once and not feel like I'm missing anything after I cut him loose. Strangely enough, I like his oddball movie characters, though...and I like the work he does on behalf of orphans and adopted kids. But otherwise...meh...

Shucks, I can't choose out of those three.
I can say that although I like Chris Rock, I think Dave Chappelle and Katt Williams are more funnier than him. So that brings me down to two. Katt is really funny to me, though like everyone else has said, he curses a lot, but it doesn't bother me too much. I think he's a bit redundant at times, but nonetheless, he has me on the floor cracking up. I love Dave because he can take the most simplest thing and make it funny. I liked his stand up, but when he got to "Chappelle's Show" he had me hooked, I couldn't miss not one episode of that show. Even after post Chappelle's show, the man is still hilarious. I think the fact of him not trying to be funny makes him even the more funny. So I guess if I had to choose, it'd be Dave. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I think Katt Williams made me laugh the hardest, Dave Chappelle is funnier than Chris Rock & more creative than Katt. I also feel Dave's comedy will be more lasting and that Katt will burn bright for a short period of time.
But Chris Rock is the most important of the three. His comedy has real substance to it. It's social commentary. Maybe not always "ha ha funny," but always worthwhile. [Edited 9/1/09 11:06am] My Legacy

Chris easily. DC is okay. I'm just not really that big
of a Katt Williams fan. He's okay but after a minute his style of comedy is derivative. Don't laugh at my funk

Anybody see that Next Friday movie (or maybe it was Friday after Next) with Kat tryna be a Prince type character. I think even his name was little Prince. He's amusing but not really funny, I laugh more at him than with him.

The other thing about Kat that bothered me a bit recently is that in going coockoo for coco puffs (which in itself is not bad, because comics often suffer from psychosis), he went through a phase of publicly attacking other comics. One thing about comedians is that no matter what race, gender, color, or comedic creed, they have bond of loyalty to each other collectively (and to the craft) that practically rivals a masonic order. When he kind of lost it and started going in on Steve Harvey and others last year to annoint himself the King of Comedy it was like dude betrayed The Brotherhood: http://www.youtube.com/wa...fK30ibcM1E He had a lot of folks in the comedy community giving him the side eye...but he said he was retiring from stand-up after this show, so maybe he doesn't care [Edited 9/1/09 18:41pm]

If you brought Paul Mooney up in here, this discussion wouldn't even exist
Dave is awesome all around. Dude can make me laugh and he doesn't have to tell jokes. I understand why he turned down the money, I have alot of respect for him Chris is hit and miss for these days, but Chris in the 90s is legendary. Bigger and Blacker? Required Viewing Katt is a walking talking stereotype. His hustle is great because I don't know anyone who has been able to take a tired schtick/character that he played 7 years ago and parlayed it into a career "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Pretty much like the WWE. I don't think he really meant to admonish his fellow comedians! Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know...

He went after Ricky Smiley too recently At that show he and Steve did, Steve went on and was respectful, did his act, didn't even mention Katt. Then Katt went on there and bashed Steve, and the crowd was going crazy.... then a couple of days later, he got bitchslapped by a ghetto cowboy in Detroit..
