Pittsburgh's the same as NE....look at all the changes they've made over the years, especially on defense. As phunk said, they weren't afraid to let the talented Plax go and go with Ward.

I remember Chuck Knoll saying the mistake he made was staying with his core guys for too long. The team got old and struggled for a few years. Pitt & NE do it right - you have to replenish, even if it means cutting long-time players(like Toomer & Marvin Harrison).

It is thee only way 2 remain on top. I wish Chicago understood this simple concept.

I expect big things from da Bears. Cutler finally has a solid defense. He doesn't have to score 35 in order to win.

Don't believe the hype. The Bears defense is the WEAKEST part of the team.
Harris is playing on 1 leg, they have zero corners, Urlacker is OLD, Lovie's cover 2 covers no one, they don't practice tackling and.....they don't know how 2 adjust during actual games.

If you listen to some Pittsburgh fans,it's because the Rooney's are
cheap. lol It's not as bad as it used to be. Before they built Heinz
Field, a lot of good players would get away like Rod Woodson,Chad Brown,
Carnell Lake, and Neil O'Donnell(i know not the best example). Now
instead of losing 4 to 5 good players in 2 years now they may only
lose 1 in two years. I think the 49ers during their 80's and 90's
heyday were the best at replacing players who peaked at age 30
and keeping their core veterans. The 49ers were great at this going
all the way back to Plan B which was Pre free agency.

It wouldn't surprise me if they pulled out 9 wins. Matt Forte is
the real deal. A lot of teams stupidly punt the football to Devin
Hester and he makes them pay. I agree with you on Harris but if
the other guys remain healthy they could be solid on defense. I
always felt Urlacker was good but not special in Butkus or Singletary mold
like some would have you believe. I know you don't care for
Lovie Smith but be patient. You could still have Dick Jauron. lol

Exactly. I had the Bears Defense in my fantasy league last season with the RAIDERS Defense.
Chicago, over the season only scored four (4) more fantasy points than the RAIDERS.

Excuse me if I'm not impressed by the Bears D.

The Raiders, Chiefs and Broncos suck as much as is possible.

The Chargers could go 7 - 9 and win that division.

GO CHARGERS!!

Seymour says he’s excited to join Raiders (yeah, right! hah! )

ALAMEDA, Calif.(AP)—Richard Seymour(notes) ended his five-day sit out and will join the Oakland Raiders on Saturday, saying he was initially “blindsided” by the trade from the New England Patriots.

Seymour was acquired last Sunday for a 2011 first-round pick but did not report to the Raiders, raising speculation he did not want to join Oakland.

In his first public comments since the deal, Seymour told the Boston Herald on Saturday that he was taken aback when coach Bill Belichick told him of the trade, which is sending him from one of the NFL’s model franchises to the one with the worst record over the last six years.

“First of all, I was blindsided by this whole event,” Seymour told the Herald. “When you get blindsided, you should take a moment to gather your thoughts. I have a lot of personal issues more pressing than football.”

Seymour has four children and is the guardian of a 15-year-old cousin, who had recently joined him in the Boston area. Seymour’s family will return to South Carolina, while he flies to Oakland on Saturday to join his new team. He was scheduled to talk at a news conference later Saturday.

Seymour turns 30 next month and is in the final year of a contract that pays him about $3.7 million this year. Had he not reported, he could have been suspended for the season and had his contract roll over to 2010.

That assumes he would still want to play. If he retired it wouldn't matter.
I don't think he's happy to be a RAIDER and I do believe him about the personal issues. Does he move for one year? Is everyone in limbo for a year while he's in Oakland?
I don't think he'll try to stay in Oakland.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
