Well to be serious, it used to bother me if I got to know someone I was interested in had been promiscuous during a part of her life, or still was currently. I mean it really bothered me. There's this completely insane idea that guys can fuck around and be MEN for it, but if girls fuck around they're sluts and whores. What it comes down to, of course, is male privilege and that fucking persistent idea that women are the sexual property of men. Why else would there be bragging rights for taking a girl's virginity? Why else would women be expected to be more faithful or monogamous, and are judged more harshly if they're not? It is a double standard, for sure. I have a theory of why it is, though. I think that because, on any given day, any woman, whether she be pretty or ugly, can get sex from most any man. Men, however, unless he is really really good-looking or has got "game", cannot get it as easily without having to pay for it.As a result, men who sleep around are percieved as being some sort of stud, where women who do the same are considered whores because it is assumed that women should just be able to get it without even blinking an eye, so when they do have a lot of sex, it appears that they are just giving it up to any and every one.
