Swine Flu...

I offically have it neutral

I thought I was gonna die last night- fall asleep and never wake up again coz I felt so ill that I even prepared myself for my demise last night , but I did wake up as u can see biggrin

Phoned NHS they said I need to take Tamiflu, get someone else to collect the medication and stay at home!...bang goes my Notting Hill Carnival weekend and work bonus confused

Anyone else have or had Swine Flu? Anyone taking Tamiflu? Any side effects?

Thank u.
Well the NHS do a questionaire on ur symptoms and medical history and take it from there, if u answer yes or no to certain questions i presume u have it. So they get ur details and give u a code for the Tamiflu to get from the pharmacist.
If people have symptons like: not being able to breath properly or a tightness in ur throat they recommend u call 999 immediately.

Really? Damn that sucks. So many people died from it and now they are making it sound less severe. I'm confused about the whole thing.

Aw Cat! I'm sorry to hear that you have it - I really hope you get over it quickly hug

As many people die from 'normal' flu as Swineflu and those that have died, the vast majority have had underlying health problems. Don't let the headlines freak you out wink

There isn't anything they can do unless you develop respiratory problems. He's finally better today - first day of no fever!

From everything I've read...in terms of symptoms, it is.

The big issue appears to be the speed with which this virus mutates. I have my doubts about all that, however. shrug

Well, speaking from experience with having a 4 year old that tested positive for it...it is not like your basic type A.

I knew my son was at risk because of his history of picking up influenza repeatedly over the last year, we were just waiting for the vaccine to be available but unfortunately we didn't get it in time.

Believe me, H1N1 is no joke. It's awful. The second he got sick this time, I knew something was very different.

I'm just thankful that all he is dealing with now is major weight loss, blistered lips and a mouth riddled with fever cankers.

Yes there is a lot of ppl that die from influenza especially pensioners etc that they don't make issues out of it. What i dont understand if they can find a so called cure with this Swine flu so quickly why can't they do it with normal influenza neutral

That does suck ur poor little mite! coz its the kids and pensioners that feel the symptoms most and i think the fever is the worse part of it. Glad hes feeling better tho.

Any flu virus can kill you, if you're already in poor health.

I do think that the media has blown the illness out of proportion.

Same here speaking from my own experience I dont think its as clean cut as that(saying its just ordinary flu) Ive never one to be a whiner about health if I've get a cold/flu I'll just brush it off and carry on my day. The symptoms of this was a lot severe I thought it was just a cold at first but by the second day I couldnt move and didnt even have enough strength to lift up a phone and the fever was the worse.

The previous week my daugther(who's a young adult) had a cold, but her symptoms was gone in two days and she said she felt fine. She had passed it to me but it shows u it has a different effect on everyone some people get it mildy some not so it depends on ur own health history ur age and other elements e.g immune system etc.

Just reading about it on the internet or in papers doesnt make people experts on the virus and they wouldnt be spending millions to make a drug to control the spread it if was just normal flu.
