I remember when my youngest son was born. When he would cry, our cat Anubis would always come and get one of us. He would meow until one of us tended to the baby. When he was satisfied that my son was okay he'd go back to his corner and lie down.

He's been gone almost 17 years, but I still kinda miss him. Probably because he was the first cat that I ever had as a pet. I have 3 cats now, and they are sweet in their own way, but still not as sweet as my parents' cat was. When we had to put him to sleep because of illness/old age, I cried like a baby.
