hate 'em, they're no fun whatsoever Obviously you haven't met me. I know that I'm a cat person even though I have never been owned by a cat, nor ever had any pets. For years I've befriended feral cats of the 'hood, and often fed them KFC and luncheon meat. Well that ended when the racoons made their presence known and the cats disappeared. I adore the cat kingdom from the biggest lion to the smallest kitty. I think my personality is similar to cats in many ways, and I am a Leo altho that doesn't really mean anything since I know Leos who do not like cats. I've experienced psycho cats as well, but for the most part I have a good rapport and know how to connect with them. My fave cat experience was with a former hairstylist who had a huge white cat named Fluff. I was over her house to get my hair done, and afterwards I wanted to lie down to take a nap. When I reclined on her bed, the cat jumped on top of me then sat down across my stomach and took a nap on top of me. I don't like sleeping on my back, so it was a short cat nap, but it was a cute Kodak moment that was not captured. Someday I hope to have one have me. beautiful! As long as we keep our luv strong we'll never shed no tears

HOWEVER no matter how much of a friend your cat has made you, if you shrank over night to say 12" (inches) you'ld be breakfast. Their natural instincts crack me up... I can easily see a lion/tiger in them when a bird flies near my back door screen, this is his highlight of the day... or at my front window in my living room I hear the "thonk" of his tail against the window... if only he could pounce, he would and has at times hitting this body against the window... he wants the bird so bad! The other night he caught this big grasshopper and was so proud of himself... and ate it. But yet, he is very loving... waits at the glass door almost everyday until I get home, he has incredibly patient. He often will stare me down while I am on the computer... usualy falling asleep just waiting for my attention... I know, it sounds sad, but he gets tons of attention. He is probably the most attention seeking cat I have ever had. He is a fun cat... loves his attention and I pick on his all the time. He tolerates me well... I usually spank or slap him against his behind as he walks by... he play swats at my foot or hand and just keeps going.... or he will sneak attack me (for a cheat shot) when I am least expecting it. This is when I am thankful I am bigger than him and he is not a lion. Plus he is deaf... so I believe he replies more on visual, so he is a bit more aware than most cats... and not as lazy seeming. He has a great character. Is very clean and sweeps up his crumbs before and after eating. I am a bit obsessive to cleanliness... so I use to always sweep up around his eating area and ummmm litter box since he was a kitten. He now mimics what I do with his paws, it is cute to see. He does well with baths too, as he gets them when his coats becomes dirty looking. I love to be outside on the back patio and does not attempt to get out, thank goodness. I don't know how well he could survive being deaf in this crazy city. Most likely would get ran over by a car on the main traffic street area. The only thing that I wish could be different is his hair and how busy I am always cleaning. I can't stand cat hair. But thank goodness he lets me vacuum him... Watching a bird... at the far upper right hand corner.

I can leave for an entire weekend trip and he is ok. Just plenty of food and nice clean litter box. But my sister usually stops by and gives him some can food. So he is not really left alone, because he is spoiled rotten. R, I hope you having a wonderful day.

I agree I think dogs want to be your friend. Cats decide if you are worth being their friend. That says a helluva lot bout ones self. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

My cat is loud, always meowing, gets into the trash, sneaky fucker! Right now she is snoring loudly on a blanket she confiscated to lay on. i=I want to pick her contented ass out and throw her out in the rain! (she's an indoor only kitty too so that would be a real shock to her ass). Aggravating ass

I love all my 3 cats. I can watch them for hours to see how they act.
To become good friends with your cat you should learn the language of a cat. a cat can make about 16 different sounds and use a non-verbal language as well. Learn how cats greet each other or how they tell to other cats that they are friends. I imitate that behaviour and don't go into anthropomorphism. Cats will not understand that. f.i. if i want Aagje a female mother cat wants to come home i make a sound like a kitten would make when she is in danger and calls for her mommy. Aagje will come running as fast as she can and telling at the same time she's on her way making a special sound to comfort her kittens. It works everytime. http://www.youtube.com/wa...QwjN2ek08Q She's always in my Hair [Edited 8/29/09 21:52pm]
