Living in NYC all my life,,,,it made me became so jaded by the madness I've seen too boxed

Honestly though I want to be jaded,,,,I'm an emotional wreck as it is.

I damn near emptied my purse the minute I saw this spitting image of my grandmother beggin' for change in the bronx,,,,I damn near did everything but walked the woman back to my house

Good for you, Sammi and Richard, for saying something in defense of those people.

Right? lol I'm sure she was fumbling for a response to attach to that. But NO TIME FOR FOOLS.
I hope she feels guilty for how she's acting - and as manager!
Shit like that gets me so angry - an honest mistake shouldn't be met with anger and impatience, what good does that do for anyone?

Yeah, that's really cool that you spoke up like that, especially in front of everyone. I bet the manager will calm her antics a bit.

Yeah, I can't deal with homeless beggars on the street. It confuses me, I feel all mixed up, I don't feel safe...my solution is to not give to anybody on the street. Stop and pull out my wallet? No. I see it as being a gatekeeper to my own energy and it's not particularly healthy for me to open that gate.

I did bring a good quality down sleeping bag and some heavy blankets to the local homeless shelter a few months ago though. There were two men sitting outside and when they saw me come in, they wanted to check out my goods. The woman at the desk told me they could really use my stuff. So I actually got to meet and speak with the people who received my things and that felt very rewarding and very respectable on both sides.

And talking about people who SUCK pissed

I was crossing at a crosswalk half a block from my house which I have done a hundred times. There's no light, just the crosswalk. I saw a car coming, but it was not so close and even though pedestrians have the right of way and it is LAW that cars stop if the pedestrian has only STEPPED OFF THE CURB, I figured I'd pretty much clear the street by the time she got to the crosswalk.

So I have CROSSED the street fully, and this car comes whizzing up honking. So I turn to look at her. And she comes to almost a FULL STOP in order to say BITCH right into my face omfg

Is this sane behavior? chainsaw

So I point to the crosswalk. And as she speeds away she gives me finger3

eek

I am STILL shocked by this. I'm a sensitive person and that's not nice. disbelief

Since we've been going through this depression/recession I've seen more midddle-age women out asking for money for their families, I give. In most instances I think people out on the streets are out there by circumstances other than the don't wanna work. Those women should kept their mouths shut, if the didn't wanna donate. Besides, it's not a very safe thing to do. We had an incident here in Chicago last year a women told some panhandlers, "go get a job", they beat her into a coma.

So he gets on and is asking for money and these two women are in front of me. One asks if he's really blind and the other one says "Yes, he's blind! He pulled out his eyes in front of my kid! Just now, I was at a Subway restaurant, and all 3 girls working there were brand new, probably within their first week of employment there.
Poor things, clearly had NO training by their slob of a manager, who insisted on yelling at one of them because she didn't know that the beeping meant the bread was baked.
She was going on and on about how this one's so stupid, and the other's so clueless. And all the while she was moping at the register, while shouting at the three, who barely knew what they were doing.
I tried chatting them up, one told me it was her third day there, and she already hated her life. I really felt for her.
I had ordered a 6" but she heated up enough chicken for a foot long.. The bitch started muttering and was like "Uhmmmmm, you KNOW you only need one piece. Don't ever do that again. Put it back where you got it."
So she made this girl put back an already heated piece of chicken back with the cold pieces - which i find wrong. And had I the money, I'd pay extra just so she didn't have to.

All this took place in front of a very large line. When I got my food and payed, I told her "For the record, it's best you don't scream at your employees infront of customers." She replied with "Well, it's a restaurant."
disbelief I said "I don't care! When you do that, it looks bad on you and the restaurant. Take that into consideration."

It took me everything in my big hungry body not to jump over that counter and shove her head in that toasting oven, that sloppy cow.

pissed

Well, in every restaurant I've ever worked at, management is NOT supposed to demean employees in front of customers. You should really go to Subway's website and see if there is a way of letting someone at corporate know about this.

There's a certain block downtown I avoid. Not because it's a rougher area (though it is) but because there's one homeless man around there who looks so similar to my father I actually teared up the first time I saw him. It was too uncanny.

Believe me, I'm not always so cool. I didn't have much of a chance to respond. I was in a very mellow mood walking around my neighborhood. I no longer own a car, and one of the reasons is to stay out of the madness. Road rage is rampant where I live. I was completely taken off guard in this case.

That nod

He's been called out as a liar and a fake by people before. He pulled out his eyes one time in response to someone who charged him with faking blindness to scam the passengers nod

And he's an awesome singer. Man is in his 60s at least and sometimes he just starts singin on that train. Beautiful beautiful songs. But he's doing that because he's feelin it not at the demand of some cretan clapping

nod i find it hard to believe that someone can assume that even though he really can't see, he's pulling his implants out just for shits n' giggles... disbelief
the skepticism in this world is baffling.

I'm a sensitive person and that's not nice. disbelief

I took the bus from a street corner I had never taken it from before. It was a T intersection so I expected the light to turn green and I started into the intersection when I saw the opposite light turn red. There was a green arrow for the right turn, which I didn't realize would be there. Anyway, I am 1 step from the curb and this stupid ass lady comes driving up in the lane and panics like I just threw myself under her wheels!

She pokes her head out and points to the green light and starts yelling. As she drove off, in ultimate ghetto loudness I told her F you, you stupid C!

I feel your pain lol

Well, in every restaurant I've ever worked at, management is NOT supposed to demean employees in front of customers. You should really go to Subway's website and see if there is a way of letting someone at corporate know about this.

that's not a bad idea hmmm thanks biggrin

edit: Done and done. biggrin We'll see how far it goes!

The owner of the subway just called me. omg
He claims that the manager was having personal marital issues - which he told me about.. not even that sat well with me, that's personal business and I should know nothing more than that...
anyway, he was incredibly apologetic and offered "lunch on him" the next time i come in lol

i had no idea that i'd actually be contacted after that! shake wow. that IS impressive, TMI or not. nod
