Why? This is an odd thread topic it's wank material. between this, the pillow thread, and an old thread i started about what position people sleep in, i'm trying to get as an accurate picture of orgers in their bedrooms as possible. only joking. i'd like to paint my walls, but i can't choose a colour. i thought listening to what others have going on might help me decide. everyone's a fruit & nut case

I see. What's your favourite colour? Are you a calm person? I ask because I find red or yellow or whatever as wall colours can get really disconcerting after a while. I used to have a room painted a kind of olive colour and that was beautiful, but for a bedroom I think a dark blue would be best. You have to keep a bedroom dark I think. I remember taking a Xanax once and had the time of my life making mushroom gravy. The feeling of satisfaction when I finished the gravy made me feel like I'd solved the problems of world hunger or something. Apparently darker colours should be used in bedrooms because it helps even light sleepers drop off. Bright colours can reflect too much (sun, streetlights, the occasional passing by of a holy prophet or a pop star, missile blasts etc) Insomniacs are recommended to have colours like midnight blue, pine green etc. Terrible for filming home porn though, apparently. Sounds pretty! My parents had their kitchen, family room, dining room and living room painted a light yellow color a couple of years ago. It looks really nice. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Boring eggshell white (same color that's on all the walls in this condo). When I get enough money saved up, I'm going to get everything repainted, and perhaps even get a nice border to put on top of the walls. It's a bit too plain in here for me. The walls need more color, or something. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Serious question and not to offend anyone who might have the whole Prince decor thing going.
What's the reaction you get from prospective partners?? Do they like it? Or are they like, "If we move in together this is gonna have to go" Like for example, I can't get into doing that to my home, but if I did, my hubby would be like NO FUCKIN WAY. [Edited 8/28/09 21:42pm]

Our opposing walls to the wood/dark redis granite paint walls are a dusky rose with gold fleck - lookis amazing by candle light - millions of shimmering flickers Nice. I did the light above dark because my bedroom has a vaulted ceiling (which I hate, incidentally). I thought doing the walls dark at the bottom and light at the top would help make the ceiling look lower and the room look cozier. I'm not sure it helped. But at least if I ever decide to sell the place, I won't be up on a tall ladder for days trying to cover red paint at the ceiling. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
