I love Shazam! and Isis! Even better if you read the 1940's comics. So hokey!

Well done!

fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your point of view) every comic book, cartoon and TV show from my childhood is a Hollywood movie or is currently in production.

the results are mixed. i think Spidey is as cool as he ever was, but everything else isn't as good as it was when i was a nipper.

I haven't rewatched Power Rangers since I was a kid seeing it for the first time, but even from what I remember I know now it was pure shit! lol

On the other hand, anyone remember Gargoyles? I recently bought season one on DVD and it's fucking brilliant! There's so much intensity that went right over my head as a kid -literary references, bits of real life history and world mythology thrown in, even social commentary. It's genius. I have a whole new, deeper appreciation for it now, though I'm convinced that being sold to Disney was a misstep on the creator's part. It seems to me it was supposed to have been a fairly serious animated fantasy show geared at adults.

A lot of cartoons. My brother downloaded the first season of "Thundercats""since we dug it as kids, we even had an action figure. Anyway if you watch it now it's pretty crap, one fighting scene only had sound effects and no music. Also no feeling in the voice acting at all. lol

nod All of those were great.

I think I read somewhere that Sam Raimi drew some inspiration for Evil Dead I and II from Equinox.

Me too! I must have watched this 100 times! Now, I can't believe I overlooked Lucinda Dickey's horrible acting, dunce among other atrocities! I still like the dance moves though. boxed
