Down in the dumps

What do you do when you have your "down in the dumps" days? How do you turn yourself around? Just curious.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Hang out with my best friend in the world, aka the funniest and funnest person in my life. She always, without a doubt, gets me laughing no matter how bad the situation is.

SPEND MONEY! woot!

lol

seriously, it helps when i can treat myself. a new book, a new CD, then going out somewhere to eat afterwards. just a little self-indulgence can pick up my spirits.

on the other hand, a good trip to the gym can make me feel better too. get those endorphins going. nod

I had a very bad day today. Yeah I do the spend money part, i also do the endulging of sweets thing, which isn't good since i've been trying to lose weight. Thats whats been frustrating me the most. I want to get back to my size 10/12 but it seems like its taking forever. I stay focused for about 3 weeks, but then when I don't see the results that I expect, then I fall off the wagon. I don't know what else to do. sad

do you have any healthy veggie hippie kinds of restaurants nearby? a good macrobiotic veggies and rice plate will make you feel great, at least physically. you'll feel full and healthy and full of good stuff on the inside, and that usually makes me feel a little bit better in general, at least for a while.

then again, ordering tons of greasy chinese takeout makes me very happy too, even if i'm not very happy when i'm done eating it. lol

Whenever I'm feeling any less than peachy I need to be alone. Almost anything that anyone says bothers me immensely at those times. If I sleep I usually wake up in a better mood.
Kinda strange, kinda awesome.

naw, no veggie hippie restaurants nearby, like in a 5 min emergency driving distance, the nearest one is about 20-30 minutes away. But now that you mention it, I should start to seek some out. Especially when I get the fast food craving, or a craving to treat myself, then I can try a veggie place and not feel so guilty. I have to admit, in the past hour, I dropped everything, put the laptop to the side and did some exercises in my family room...while watching a movie I hadn't seen in a few years. biggrin So I'm starting to feel like my usual self again. Glad I did the exercises for an hour, its not the gym, I don't have a treadmill in my home, but I do have a set of weights. So thats better than nothing right?

yes.... I have tapes that I workout to and I do them with weights. I've taken up running recently so I do that too.

okay, i've never done the kickboxing before, but I hear it does wonders especially for women. I do the squats at home with my weights as well as when I hit the gym. But I mostly focus on the things I can't do at home, at the gym. I have an exercise ball at home that I use to do my abdominal crunches. It really helps too.

all those are good. The kickboxing is a lot of fun to me and on the days when I'm in the dumps or stressed out, I put in a tape and give it everything I've got. I don't go to the gym because I have most of the equipment at home.

Depends on why I'm in the dumps.

If it's caused by someone else- I avoid them, don't really like alot of negative energy.

If it out of frustration with myself or life in general- I scream. It let's go of all that frustrated tension.

I would recommend doing that last one while alone. People might think your crazy. nod lol

But mostly my hubby cheers me up and with his great sense of humour gets me laughing mushy
