I saw a video where they were being interviewed for the film and they acted like an old married couple. Either something's gone on or they are damned good friends. I've seen a few interviews too with the pair of them, acting like how you describe. Finishing each others sentences, spontaneous and unnecessary touches, and the like. If they were male and female leads paired together opposite each other in a movie, you know the romance rumours would be flying all over the gossip rags. Damn good friends is a possibility. But really, how many people do you know act like that with their friends, particularly dudes in a non-sexual atmosphere? If they were from another country or culture it could just be considered a friendly gesture. Male friends in certain middle eastern countries hold hands, after all. But they're not, they're American. And honestly, when we're talking about heterosexual men (as Pine publicly is) in American culture, that hand-on-waist gesture is a protective/possessive stance usually reserved for women... Of course, in some freaky alternate universe where Trek contained sex scenes, I can see an in character 3way happening. the style and makeup she had in the movie did not really fit on her too well all of the times, but other than that I think she's simply stunning, a natural beauty and a breeeeze of fresh air

There will never be another like Shatner and Nimoy. Although Pine and Quinto are cute (well maybe just Pine) and did good jobs playing Kirk and Spock, they are just fronters.

And they should, damn it! It's already been established by several people associated with Trek that Kirk/Spock is more or less canon anyways. Even JJ Abrams said that whole Uhura huggin' on Spock in the transporter scene only happened because Spock needed someone there and he and Kirk didn't like each other yet....
