They probably had that right all along. We are still there why? If we're not going to emancipate those women, we need to just leave.

To expand the problem even further.

Why should women be in a position to rely on men for money and food---that's the real problem.

No, I haven't, and I don't think this is a topic to joke about.

as long as the women are allowed to have jobs, that's fair.
my ability to survive should not be reliant on the status of my coochie.

We're talking Afganistan here, not North America.

And Christian groups can sucessfully lobby for laws prohibiting same-sex marriage, if there is no true separation of church and state.

Same thing really.

Religion.

sadly women in some middle eastern countries actually need a male's permission in order to work, which not all men approve of.

exactly.
But news outlets are only doing half their job when they focus on ridiculous stories like this. This is really part of a much larger form of subjugation of women.

I want to throw up every time I see Saudi Arabia being mentioned as our "allie" by one of our politicians. sigh

I am a product of such a rule...
They get old, they die

Now there are only me and my babies.
No princes, so the cycle may begin again.

It's no biggie!
It's just that I see a lot of news now about what this or that person did wrong. Or how this or that person robbed this or that liquor store.
And I believe that some people are more prone to crime, but when it's a big problem, this reflects on society to me as much as it does the individual.

I'm starting to really hate the news now--one, because what they report isn't always honest. But two, because they never actually get to the bottom of any story.

I think I'm just cranky today lol

if the media went into detail it would be a 2 hour documentary not a 1 minute news story, it's assumed people don't have that kind of attention span, just long enough to absorb the most sensational or shocking headlines they can think of to get ratings neutral

To be honest, I think that would be the last thing they're thinking of.
They're being denied sustainability (because they can ONLY get that from men, sadly) because they deny these men sex.

How the fuck is that fair?
