CARY GRANT APPRECIATION THREAD!!! One of my all time favorite actors and the man that got me into watching old B&W films (along with Joan Crawford and James Cagney).
I just thought it would be nice to share... I love this movie and need to get it on DVD.

Cool. I don't know too many people who watch the classics. What's your favorite Cary grant movie. I like Suspicion, Arsenic and Old Lace and Charade.
There's a ton of his movies that I'm anxious to see but haven't yet, including Notorious and North by Northwest.

Did you watch the day dedicated to CG? AMC is dedicating each day this month to a star. A couple of weekends ago, I watched as many Bette Davis movies as time would allow me. I need to do some ordering from AMC.
I love CG, though I don't get to see many of his movies, I captivated when I do. George Clooney seems to me, the equivalant to Cary Grant today, especially in the types of roles he plays, that suave yet comedic.

I love Cary Grant, he was so handsome.
I love in particular 'to catch a thief' (grace kelly too, what more could you want in a movie?), arsenic and old lace and of course an affair to remember, it kills me every time.

What has always amazed me bout Cary is that he could play any role with easy. Be it action, comedy, romance or drama. He just became that character with so little effect. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I read a biography about him once. It said that he was bisexual and heavily into L.S.D. in his later years. It was fascinating.
There were lots of quotes from him too - and one sticks in my mind... I'm probably paraphrasing here, but it was something like: "If you want to be thin; think thin. Don't eat steak and potatoes for dinner. Eat one poached egg on one piece of toast".

Des, it might scare you to know that Mr. Leach was one of my favorite actors and that I love his movies.
He seemed to be the prototype of the kind of actor George Cloony has striven to become.

For some classic Cary Grant youj guys have to see Sylvia Scarlett (his first movie with Katharine Hepburn, where she spends most of the movie duisguised as a man), The Bachelor and The Bobby-Soxer (where he co-starred with a teenage Shirley Temple) and, of course, The Philadelphia Story. He is one the screens classic comedians! Dyes Got the Answers 2 Ur ?s

Bringing Up Baby I Was a Male War Bride Isn't the latter movie, the one where Cary grant coins the phrase gay? (or at least it was the first time it was used on screen in reference to sexuality)
