Oops redface

My bad, I guess it is supposed to be beetroot. I am still getting used to this "English" language.
I am American, we just call them beets.

absolutely can't tolerate:

okra- thanks to my mom who laces all of her beans and peas with them

beets- thanks to my day care providers who forced us to eat them and if we didnt would make us wear a donkey's tail around the room so that the other children could laugh

olives- look like eyeballs

brussel spouts-guess I haven't had them prepared correctly

asparagus- another favorite of my mother's ugghhh

califlower- it absolutely destroys a perfectly good vegetable medly- but i can tolerate it in pepper sauce

mushrooms- the taste of them -ughhhh

leeks- thanks to airfrance who loves to serve them in sandwhiches on international flights
LOVE HARD.

Veggies I hate:

Peas (they are smooshy and disgusting).
Beets (used to have to eat them as a kid, and never liked the flavor of them).
Black olives (I love green olives, but I can't eat the black olives. I dunno, they don't have much taste to them).
Brussel sprouts (another veggie I had to eat as a kid that I never liked the flavor of).

I recently tried asparagus for the first time, and absolutely loved it. Wasn't too sure how I was going to like it, but it was very good. drool My brother and sister-in-law were surprised that I never had it before. lol
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

there aren't many I don't like
I do NOT like cooked spinach! raw...ok...cooked no way!
I do NOT like Eggplant. Gross!
and I do NOT like asparagas...It's OK at best....tastes like spinach to me but atleast it's not all mushy like cooked spinach.
I'm with everyone about slimy Okra! barf
I honestly haven't had cooked beets...I bet if they were roasted, I'd like them.
I love pickled beets though!
Tomatoes I'm on the fence about...when they are on a burger I can deal, or if they are fresh outta my garden they are YUMMY! but I never eat a slice of store bought tomato.
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

In fact, I'd go so far as to suggest roasting any vegetable you don't like - and see if it doesn't change your mind.

Eggplant has to be prepared just right, or it's pretty nasty.

I am also not a big tomato fan, but I regularly eat it in thin slice form. Also, I have had home grown ones that were really good.

i must be the eggplant whisperer or something, because i've never had a bad experience preparing that veggie. in fact, that's why i like to cook with it, because it's so easy and tasty and there's so much of it.

i do know that you have to start cooking with it really soon after you cut into it, because it starts getting nasty fast. Ya gotta be twice as quick if you're cooking with thai eggplant.

I love eggplant parmigiana, but when I try and cook it in the olive oil, I always seem to get it too oily. If I put less oil, it seems like I am not cooking it enough? confuse err

how thick are you slicing the eggplant? that could be a factor.

It seems to have some bitterness to it.

I haven't cooked it that many times, but wasn't as thrilled with my own versions as I have been with restaurants'. I have had some really good eggplant sandwiches, though.
