That was fine with me. I expect that type from QT. I love watching his dialouge scenes no matter how supefluous others think they are. It's kind of what attracts me to his films (well part of it, even though its kind of become his schtick now). His flicks have people actually talking how they would in real time, folks eat, folks go to the bathroom etc lol

I enjoyed watching both 'chick' scene dialogues from DP. It was more of a fly on the wall experience imo. No it wasnt great cinema but it was fun.

At first it was TOO MUCH dialogue and not enough action, but then all those talking scenes started growing on me

yah, saw this saturday . it was pretty decent. same tarantino mess. half hours worth of sometimes fascinating and hilarious, sometimes rather boring bits of punctuated with a minute or so more or less of some of the illest violence or "action" ever. gotta love the guy . really dug brad pitt's character. funny as fuck . "arrivederci.." . really liked shoshanna and hugo stiglitz and big nazi dude whose name i don't remember (dude that was shooting at shosanna in the beginning and all kindsa badass shit the whole movie ) also. really flick, i think, but i like all his flicks, so i'm kinda biased .


on a side note, i had to sit behind dude with the biggest dome ever and half of this movie is in subtitles and had to bog and weave over old boy's head all evening . so to him, etc.

would SO see this again if i could afford it . really enjoyed myself

Is it violent? I can't deal with alot of WWII movies because of depictions of violence like torture and killing of children.


Otherwise, I find that specific period of history fascinating. How violent is this film?

Its semi-cartoony violence, but violent still, after all is Tarantino. But its not like too realistic, it's over the top at times which take some of the shock away imo. There are a few scenes where some people are being scalped but you now its all special effects but still wince worthy. And one scarring with a knife incident thats wince worthy. The rest is gun fight shit. Sans gore, Imago, this film is right up your alley I think. You'd enjoy it. Its offbeat.

The violence that is in it is pretty graphic, but again it isn't that much violence.

The story is AWESOME, and the acting is BRILLIANT. I am really surprised at how much I am hyping this movie, but I can't help myself.

I just got back from seeing this movie, and my nerves are still rattled!

Everything about this movie just hit perfect pitches with me. I can't believe what I saw, and I only know my love affair with this movie will grow with future viewings.

I seriously plan to go back to the theatre again, tomorrow afternoon, and watch it again, and let it soak it, and bask in the glory of classic cinema...

While my intimate knowledge of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill make it hard for me to say this one is as good as those right now, I have a very strong feeling that will change in the future as the movie sinks in with me.

And to all the Death Proof talkers, the movie was great, it probably had the best car chase in the history of cinema, but I do agree with some sentiments about the dialogue...

Much of the dialogue was enjoyable and cool, but one of its problems is the substance of it was irrelevant to the plot except, in a haphazard fashion, to draw attention to the vacancy of the first girls vs. the fierce independence of the second set.

Nonetheless, the movie was great.

And this movie was greater, and the dialogue had such purpose.

Seriously, I'm shocked by how much I loved this movie. And I came in fully expecting to love it.

I couldn't quite work out the intention behind that scene, at first - was it meant to be humourous or not?? Why Mike Myers when they could've picked an English actor? I guess the fact Tarantino chose him, and the way that scene was played, meant it *wasn't* meant to be taken seriously.

The weakest part of the movie, IMO - and I may get hounded for saying this - was Brad Pitt.
