holy crap! http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo....l=15217123
ok, so, i know we're not supposed to panic about this swine flu thing.... but, ummmm, they talked about KU in this report, infact it was the only example given. im not sure if thats because kathleen sebelius used to be in kansas, or if that means that they are really focused on KU (kansas university). either way, KU is about a mile down the road from where i live. they said 30 students had it this weekend, now 47 have it. isnt this just tuesday???? again, wouldnt be a big deal to get the flu i suppose, but my daughter and i had some kinda strain of flu 9 years ago that resulted in pneumonia in me. i was put in intensive care up at the hospital in michigan (i got it over christmas vacation) and my mother was warned that i may not make it through the night. since then, i have been very afraid to get the 'normal' flu, let alone this crap! again, i dont want to panic, but this is worrisome to me to say the least. your thoughts? It's only as dangerous as any other kind of flu. You're only at risk if you're already poorly with something else.

Try not to panic Nekky!
I understand your concern but the N1H1 flu strain is here to stay. Wash your hands ALOT. Be aware of what you're touching. I know that sounds kinky, but what I mean is, if you're out in public and you touch public doors, phones etc, wash your hands ALOT. Can't stress it enough. Wash your hands ALOT. Avoid people with a confirmed case of N1H1. If you feel you are extra suseptable to the virus, just be extra cautious. I'm firmly planted in denial

I wanna say I heard that it's being found that the use of the "virus prevention" type meds that are taken/swabbed in the nose, are causing some to lose their sense of smell.
If I find where I heard/read that, I'll post it. I'm firmly planted in denial
