I can remember a time you couldn't pay me to put an almond in my mouth! shake They were revolting. But now I've no idea what I was thinking!

Are there foods you love now that you used to hate? Or vice versa?

I know kids can be weird when it comes to food, but finding almonds of all things revolting is VERY weird.

Then I'm super weird - I don't like nuts of any kind except peanuts boxed

I've always been pretty open about food so everything I hated before I still hate now.

I went off tequila for years b/c it just turned my stomach, but margaritas are once again my friend bananadance

& I recently discovered how fabulous mango is - I used to just eat mango flavored stuff but never the raw fruit, I missed out for so many years! fit

& the thought of apples w/ peanut butter was the stupidest shit to me, but now I really like it biggrin

Whiskey has grown on me. I couldn't take it as anything more regular than a rare novelty, but I can drink it now where before it was like tasting rubbing alcohol.

onions
coffee
beer
wine
peppers
certain cheeses
almonds (in fact, I used to hate ALL nuts, now I really love almonds and cashews and can at least tolerate most other nuts. walnuts used to make me shudder I hated them so badly. now I merely don't care for them.)

It's common for people to reject certain tastes in their childhood and then develop a love for them in adulthood.

There's a chemical in certain foods which tastes repulsive when you're an infant but affects adults less. I've just Googled and Glucosinolate is one of these compounds:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...cosinolate

Glucosinolate is toxic in high doses. An adult would have to eat a lot of brussel sprouts before they became poisonous, but kids less so (obviously because they have a smaller body mass).

When kids don't want to eat their greens, give them some leeway. They're physiologically programmed to not like them! Give them a raw carrot or an apple to munch on instead.

Which one? Both? lol

Coffee's another one... I never disliked it; just I could give or take a cup. It didn't matter. The last year or so, though... I GOTTA have a coffee each day. Although that could be the caffeine, maybe. lol

Hey, for me, it was. I hated it with a passion for several years and, for the record, I was not the only one who did not like it.
