UNLIKELY REMINDERS of OUR PAST !!!!! - Tell me yours! Dear god
So, I heard this song for the first time in aaaages! Believe it or not this song reminds me of suntan oil, warm gulf ocean water, and palm trees!! There was this old Goth/Punk/New Wave club in Tampa called 911 that used to be sort of a rough place to hangout but they played really loud, dark, synth-laden music. And this was one of those songs that always reminded me of the night club there in Tampa. So this stylized, spooky haunted house sounding madness actually makes me long to lay on the beach, have a few coronas, and kick it with my old friends while watching the sun set over Tampa Bay. lawd, so stupid. Do you ever have a reminder of a wonderful time in your past? Like a song that you HATE but reminds you of good times. Or a song you love that reminds you of a crap time?

Wings - Let 'Em In
It reminds me of Tupperware!!! My mother had a Tupperware party once - and only once. Me, my brother & sister, and some neighbourhood kids (whose mothers couldn't find babysitters) were consigned to the upstairs. Our doorbell at the time sounded exactly like the opening chimes of the Wings song. I remember that my mother had a blonde afro and was wearing a white bat-wing dress; just like Barbra Steisand in 'A Star Is Born'. I remember playing with a Fisher Price Medical Centre that night. It wasn't ours; one of the neighbourhood kids brought it. I don't remember the skinny girl's name but remember that her mother's name was Norma. At one point, my mum came upstairs with a tray of sandwiches and some milk for all the kids. She never brought us food upstairs before or after, unless we were ill. Us kids didn't really care about the plastic commerce downstairs. It was just exciting for us to all be together, running and screamning together upstairs. On a normal day, if I'd invited eight kids to jump up & down on my parents' bed, my mother would have gone mad at me. This was as close to the hedonistic liberated wife-swapping 1970s as I got.

Transitioning from early 20's - college years. Drinking. Staying out all night. Fucking. Partying. Falling down stupid. Into a work class every day asshole. I like Blur. I remember going to the beach and talking with a friend and we sort of realized everyone scattered and were starting to get real lives and we pissed away a lot on studying and it would take a couple years to catch. The summer was over before it started. What a lame time. This song was playing and it is a good summer song but everything sucked so bad and it reminds me of that time.

UGH Lotusflow3r actually reminds me of a shitty time too. I think I look at it now as more of an awakening. But it doesn't change the fact that when I hear that album I'm equally impressed by the music as well as feeling ick.

Sitcoms about alien life in suburbia.
Out of this World. ALF. 3rd Rock From The Sun. Seems like an episode of one of these shows was on at some major turning point in my pre-teen days, and then 3rd Rock was a show I just couldn't get enough of towards the end of high school. Reminds me of everyone I knew back then.

After a friend of mine bought the first season on DVD this year, I was convinced to do the same. Well worth having at home. Just don't make shows like they used to.
