I was just wondering if anyone here has ever had a family member murdered and did they ever catch the person that did it? I ask that cause my grandfather was murdered back in 1980 " day after my b-day" and they have never caught the asshole and it looks like they probably never will.

When I was little (like 4 years old) the lady across the street from us was stabbed to death.

Her killer was chasing after a man for some money that was owed, and the man came to our house to hide... It was at lunch, and I had just come home from half-day school. My mother said she couldn't let the man in, so he ran across the street and hid in the lady's house without her knowledge as she was outside hanging her laundry. When the killer came looking for him, she didn't know and in anger the killer took a knife and stabbed her several times.

She ran into the road screaming before she fell down, and while we saw this we were totally helpless as we lived in a rural area with no phone (yes I said no phone) and all we could do was lock our door and hope that the killer would not come to our house.

The killer went on to a school yard where he stabbed a little kid during recess, after which he was caught, tried, and hanged.

Whoa. I seldom think about that, but I will always remember the image of the lady across the street running out of her yard with her hands up to her head while she screamed.

Daym after remembering that I need a moment of silence for myself.

My right-hand man who looked out 4 me when :I: was a regular DJ at a particular joint was murderered at gunpoint and stabbed 7 times in the back, only a week after we had a long discussion about family, friends and support in the community.

i was in a good mood today as well, till i chanced upon this thread ..

the streets are a pretty ruthless place to be

and sudden deaths, especially brutal ones are devastating to all those concerned .. for real

i myself have lost close friends to hit n run ..

and even on a more chilling note have been victim of a few attempts. this boy got a few real bad enemies.

but i gots my eyes wide open and i can run real fast.
