ThreadBare said: Des, it might scare you to know that Mr. Leach was one of my favorite actors and that I love his movies.
He seemed to be the prototype of the kind of actor George Cloony has striven to become. I can't believe I actually agree with you. I think George still has a way to go before he embodies Grant's class and swagger though or maybe it's just impossible. We don't produce actors like Grant, Gable, Cooper, and Tracy anymore.

If you enjoyed "My Favorite Wife," check out "The Awful Truth" - also with Irene Dunne. I think it's even better.
I love him in Hitchcock - Suspicion (with Joan Fontaine), Notorious (with Ingrid Bergman), North by Northwest (with Eva Marie Saint) and To Catch a Thief (with Grace Kelly). In the last three, he had three scorching-hot, censor-beating kissing scenes with his leading ladies. Another of my favorites is "His Girl Friday" with Rosalind Russell. Fastest-talking movie ever made. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
