If he did have the surgery and is now physically a woman, albeit with small breasts, would he (now she) be able to compete in the womans running? Her mannerisms and characteristics are those typically identified with men. But, her family says she's the little girl they birthed and raised.  At some point, society needs to start checking its biases and gender-based expectations.
I notice the pics of her that have been circulated the most have shown her flexing and winning. I wonder how much of this is, again, societal reaction to an extremely athletic woman of color? I remember folks treating Surya Bonaly none too kindly, too -- even limiting the extent to which she could demonstrate her athleticism by banning her flips from competition.
