Okay...if you had YOUR choice of the following...who would be your choice for starter?: Sage Rosenfels Tarvaris Jackson John David Booty or Brett Favre What do you do? Smart move...slightly desperate perhaps...but the BEST chance the Vikes have to win it all comes with Brett...certainly not with TJ (dumbass), JDB (second year...needs a few more years to make a run at it) or Sage (jury still out...very servicable back-up)

Younger and has more upside. See the last games down the stretch last season for the jets. Brett had too much pride to step aside with sore biceps and just seemed he content to screw up the jets playoff hopes. I think Favre is just being selfish. It's all about his opportunity to show the Packers up. I don't even care for the packers but i hope Aaron Rodgers bust his ass twice next season. Sage has a good arm and throws a good deep ball. He just needs more experience. I would even roll the dice with Tavaris than to bring old ass Brett back in the fold. The vikes are adrian peterson's team but i know Brett's pride will not stop him from slinging the ball over the field. Don't laugh at my funk

Folks are just tired of the circus and the fans/media sucking this dude's nuts. Favre is a great QB and a HOFamer, but he's NOT on the level of these guys; Johnny Unitas Dan Marino John Elway Joe Montana Roger Staubach Terry Bradshaw Tom Brady Peyton Manning

I would have definitely taken troy over brett anyday. Actually, Brett has some amazing stats, but you could argue that it has as much to do with his longevity and durability as it does with his talent. Yes, he's thrown for nearly as many yards as Dan Marino amd Warren Moon, but he is the all-time leader in interceptions thrown as well. Having said that, on paper the Vikings should run away with the NFC North Division and be one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. But I think age is catching up to Brett Favre, because since 2005 he has started off each season well, but by the end of the season he looked really shaky. Yes, Green Bay was crappy in 2005, got off to a horrible start but finished strong in 2006, and they went 13-3 in 2007, but Favre's arm began to falter every December, and in 2007 he looked awful against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Some of you will say, of course, he was playing on the road, but Favre had owned the Bears at Soldier Field ever since he began playing full-time in 1993. Assuming Favre can get a good passing game going and Adrian Peterson stays healthy, the Vikings should own the NFC North, even if Jay Cutler should get into Pro Bowl form and Devin Hester somehow becomes the next Larry Fitzgerald and the Bears play better than they did last season, but then again Favre never really played very well in Minnesota when he was with the Packers.
