welcome back brett favre...(again)

Reports: Favre headed to Minn., will sign today
Buzz up!Like this story? Share it with Yahoo! Buzz First, reports surfaced that Brett Favre boarded a plane at 9:10 a.m. in Hattiesburg, Miss., and is headed for Minnesota.

WISN 12 News in Milwaukee has the report. They say that according to the Hattiesburg Laurel Regional Airport, a plane with the Vikings logo on its tail left Mississppi this morning and was bound for Minneapolis.

Now, Mark Rosen of WCCO-TV in Minneapolis is reporting that a high-level source within the Vikings organization says that Favre is expected to sign with the team today.

Pro Football Talk tipped us off to Rosen's report, but had already reported earlier that rumors were rampant about Favre being on his way to the Minneapolis area.

Remember, yesterday we told you about Jay Glazer's prediction that Favre would land with the Vikings this season. Glazer quoted several Vikings players who said they thought the move would happen.

This could be embarrassing.

What condition is he in? I liked him 10 years ago, but 10 years is a century in professional football.

MY TAKE:-- favre was probably 90% ready at the beginning of vikings training camp, but knew all eyes would be on him at the start. so he and the vikes make a deal to get a couple more weeks of reps/conditioning in and come through the back door. that and the fact that tavaris jackson gets hurt in like day 2 of practice. this would have been like settling for dexy's midnight runners to play at your wedding instead of aerosmith lol plus cutler looks shaky, rodgers is a headcase and well the lions are shitty.

Source: Favre to sign with VikingsComment Email Print Share ESPN.com news services

A source close to Brett Favre said the quarterback, pending a physical, will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

Vikings coach Brad Childress confirmed in an e-mail to The Associated Press Tuesday morning that Favre was traveling from Mississippi to meet with the team.

Asked if the plan was to sign Favre on Tuesday, Childress replied: "In a perfect world."

Chris Mortensen tells Colin Cowherd that Brett Favre is headed to Minnesota today and will sign with the Vikings pending a physical.

Favre, a longtime star in Green Bay, came out of retirement last season to play for the Jets. He retired again, only to then entertain the idea of joining the Vikings. Last month, Childress said the quarterback would stay retired.

The pronouncement now appears to be premature.

According to Mortensen, the Vikings had sent their private plane to Hattiesburg, Miss., and left with Favre on it at 10 a.m. ET. The plane is expected to land in Minneapolis at about noon ET; Favre is expected to take a physical later Tuesday.

Two television stations reported that Favre was seen boarding a plane Tuesday morning that was headed to Minneapolis.

Sources told WDAM in Hattiesburg that Favre had said: "We may know something by dinner."

According to Minneapolis television station WCCO, a high-level source also said that Favre is expected to sign a deal with the Vikings on Tuesday.

On Monday, Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, responding to the day's scuttlebutt that Favre was predicted to play in Minnesota this season, said he was not paying attention to any of the talk.

"I pretty much have said [Favre] probably will follow me even when I retire. I'll probably have to hear about it. I'm just trying to take care of my business, and I can't worry about that stuff," Jackson said, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "If I let that stuff get to me, ain't no telling where I'd be right now. I just let it roll off my shoulder and just keep going. Just keep trying to get better."

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

I loved him in Green Bay but the way he's handled these "retirements" is fucking ridiculous. rolleyes He's a total drama queen and he's diminished his legacy with all the BS IMO. People don't talk about his accomplishments as much as they do about his shenanigans in the last few years.

Three things in Brett's favor; Adrian Peterson, a stout Vikings defense, and he's playing mostly indoors.

With Favre, the Jets were 8-3(coming off wins against New England and Tennessee). Then he got hurt and things went downhill. Vikings pass protection better be rock solid.

It's official Brett Favre is the biggest douche in the world.

Congrats Brett, you earned it.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

uhhhh,no. but the lions bears and packers will have a really hard time stopping peterson favre and the top ranked run defense. none of those guys will beat you by themselves. vikings division to win as long fave throws under 30 passes a game and they run the rock and use play action
