They probably would've kept him wrapped up like a Puritan anyway. The show might as well be called True Boobies. mad

Good episode. Some thoughts:

* Eric - worship Again, he brought it! And Skarsgard seems to meet the challenge of range -- from a vamp badass to a lover to a weeping child -- perfectly. I'm a Bill man, so I admit to being lately taken by him somewhat begrudgingly. hmph!

* Bill - I hope AB has written some pretty dynamic material for Bill through the end of this season, because he's fading to no more importance than any supporting character. His punching Eric was the most exciting thing he's done since rescuing Jessica's family, but it went nowhere. confused Eric could crush him, but I'd have enjoyed a full-on vamp fight.

* Maryann - On the one hand, I've grown to hate her. On the other, that means Michelle Forbes is doing a great job. And, like Skarsgard, she's showing impressive versatility. After all the crap she's been up to, I actually felt a bit sorry for her in her emotional plea to Eggs and Tara. (And Tara ending the scene with, "...Oh." giggle) Maryann's scene walking up into Merlot's (particularly with those AWFUL voice EFX) was waayyy cheesy, though... even for True Blood. disbelief

* Lafayette - SOOOO good to have him kicking !@#$ again! And what's most impressive is, even as he's clearly concerned for Tara, he seems not the least bit intimidated by Eggs or Maryann. lol For some reason I don't get a good feeling about his fate sad... but I'm hoping the established blood tie to Eric suggests some followup through season 3.

* Godric - I agree that AB dropped the ball here. We could have gotten some incredible moments with this character, but he's been summed up for us in, what, 3 episodes? confuse That's a shame.

* Nan Flanagan - I HATE that she's now part of the action as opposed to a mere face on TV. disbelief Her character was the PERFECT Greek chorus: removed, all wise, herself a summation of the show's ironic beauty/beast tension. But now they've tainted her. disbelief I honestly hope we see very little of her.

* Hoyt - His growing some 'nads is crazy sexy.

...One concern I have overall is the show's cohesiveness. We're at the point now where we're getting several vying subplots and a boatload of Characters (with more coming in). I hope AB doesn't let things get too convoluted.

...And as for the lack of full frontal male nudity, my guess is that's not AB's doing. I recall seeing a penis or two in Six Feet Under. I'm certain if it were up to AB, True Blood would be performed 100% naked. lol

There are simply fewer male actors than female willing to go full Monty without getting paid bigtime... because unlike the women, it's still all but unheard of (at least on American TV) that they are called to do it. We may eventually see more junk from non-speaking male characters or incidentals brought in for an episode or two (i.e. struggling actors who'll do anything for fleeting camera time). But don't expect any of the main males to show all of their business.

And Lafayette was kicking some ass (He went and got Tara's momma!!! eek ) lol I don't know if Maryann's gonna be having any of that for very long tho confused I'm afraid he could bite the dust soon but I sure hope she allows him a go with a sexy boy in one of her orgies giggle

I agree somewhat, but look at Oz. I think because that was a "straight" show, it was somehow okay. Even unabashedly gay shows (like Queer as Folk) didn't have full frontal that much (very fleeting, and usually from an extra). I think it has less to do with actors than it has to do with producers.

whofarted Chile, on what planet was Oz a straight show??? lol

I can't think of any other show that showed as much sex, hetero OR homo, as Oz did. There was ALWAYS somebody nekkid and fucking on OZ, virtually every week. You could count on seeing dicks a-swingin' on the regular. tonk Damn, I miss Oz. pout

And I don't agree about the TB actors cuz they are not known, at least not in the US. Not to mention they're all European so I wouldn't see them objecting to the nudity as much as maybe an American actor would. If they did it on Oz, another HBO show, I don't see why they'd avoid it on TB.

Oh, yeah, I remember that. The guy she's banging on Nurse Jackie now was also on Oz. They all get around.

My boy on that show was Alvarez, though. He was the one I always kept my eye on. Well, him and Keller. And O'Reilly. And Officer Murphy at times. And...

I think they were friends on the streets and he had evidence about some murders Keller did plus he was pushing up on Beecher, Keller's piece. So killing him was a way to silence him and prove his love to Beecher.

No. Eric offered his blood, but Bill wouldn't allow it.

What gets me is the notion ingesting any amount of vampire blood establishes a link with them. With all the humans out there on V, that means there are tons of vampires linked to folk they don't even know. That seems odd.

rolleyes Uh, yeah! lol

Plus, there was constant drama, religious conflicts, crazy plot twists and waiting to see who would get killed next cuz you knew somebody was gettin' capped each week, plus Augustus Hill's narration broke the "fourth wall" which added an oddly artsy vibe to the griminess. mushy

I tend to like most of Tom Fontana's stuff cuz it's extra gritty and grimy. He was the writer director on Homicide, the show that gave your girl Michelle Forbes her big break. geek

What other show had the balls to show balls swinging and gave you Rita Moreno as a nun that was sexually attracted to Keller??? That's just HOT!!! horny
