There hadn't been a decent grocery store b/c Safeway left when I was a kid & they never did replace it w/ a store you'd wanna buy from. It was just a big ass lot w/ some shitty food places, ridiculous clothing stores like Foxy 2 & a movie theater that had bats in it Actually, the whole mall had bats There was a record store (where I bought my first 45!) but that closed eventually too. Hell, depending on where you're coming from Stoneridge in Pleasanton is closer than Newpark. I never go out as far as Newpark unless I'm already out that way (which is rare), but Stoneridge is a 15-20 min. ride from Oakland. Having both Nordstrom & Macy's is a necessity in a mall

Stoneridge is not far from Oakland especially if you are close to 580.

Since I live in Hayward I am only about 10 minutes away from Southland Mall but for me, Newpark is closer than Stoneridge simply becaue I can hop on 880 and I'm there.

To go to Stoneridge I have to either go all the way across Hayward to 580 or go 880 to 238 to 580.

Back in 2004 or 2005, if I had to choose between Bayfair and Hilltop Mall, it would've been Bayfair, not I was like "Damn, maybe I misjudged Hilltop, it may have some potential now..."

and Hilltop is the KANG of ghetto malls, especially on Fridays. Back in 2003, there was a 50 Cent concert at the Oracle Arena and everybody went to Hilltop to get their outfits when all of a sudden, the power went out and muthafuckas RAIDED the stores
