So... back on topic... does this do anything to prove/disprove the fact/myth that gays have style (ala QueerEye, which I feel was overrated...)

I'm just askin'... I would say yes and no. WARNING: The following paragraph is a generalization I'm grossly generalizing but one of the reasons why 'straights' don't often have as much 'style' as gays is because straight folks have families. You have to balance out your love of...Madonna ... with all of the trials and tribulations of raising children, plus find time for your spouse. The me-centric persona becomes more of a family-centric one. I've seen wives lose themselves to their family, placing everyone above themselves, and husbands do NOTHING but worry about work and money. When you have to balance all of those stresses out, wearing this season's prada and catching the latest Bjork concert doesn't become as high a priority. To me, though I've reinforced the 'gay is stylish' stereotype in my post, I'm certain their's not an intrinsic edge afforded to gays that straights don't have. It's more about the 'situation'. There are always folks who break the stereotypes--my brother in law is meticulous about his appearance and tends to have really good tastes. I've also known gay men who's interior decorating styles were campy but not stylish in the classical sense. Also, when we grow up, as teenagers, straight boys and gay boys are all equally tacky in their dress. The difference is that the straight boys are often married with children within 5 to 10 years of leaving high school while the gay boys are ...well, being gay. It's more about lifestyle and interests than inherent ability. Some of they most talented painters and artist that I knew in high school and college were straight. | |

My clients, some of whom happen to be gay, fit that line of thinking quite well... btw, you're a really good writer if it weren't for the spelling errors... howzat book coming along?
