maybe the kid is an evil brat and this will teach him not to tantrum out and that if he wants to throw himself on the floor, he'll come along one way or the other??? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Maybe, who knows the circumstances but he's on a leash, there's gotta be a reason for that.

That's a dumb ass that doesn't know how to stay consistent with a timetable. That child shows signs of just being tired and cranky. My kids would get one look and they would NEVER... but I was always fair, in and out and they were armed with a full belly and in a good mood. If the child was fussing, then I'd go home. If a friend wanted to shop with me, I'd kindly decline and reschedule.
Newsflash: Bitch you have 20 minutes tops in any store that is not a toy store when attempting to shop with any toddler. Get in and get out. If shopping for yourself, make sure your child is well fed and well rested before. That way, the child isn't cranky, and the child will be more cooperative. No time to shop? Then stay your impatient angry ass at home and go shop online. DUH.

dayum can you imagine the carpet burns or bruises that kid might have gotten? Why is everyone just standing around like a bunch of idiots? If I saw that I would be all up in her grill. I'm sorry but kids act a fool and they are especially good at it when they haven't had enough sleep or food or if they have ADD. She could have at least picked the child up and carried him/her out of the store. Reminds me of that lawyer bitch that left her bratty kids on some street corner and drove off. Trifling women.

No, but it is one that has always bothered me. I have actually gotten into arguments with people about leashing children (not with actual leashers, but with advocates). I find it to be a deplorable act and I wouldn't be surprised if it has detrimental effects on a child's mental development. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...

Unless there's more footage, clearer footage or more information available elsewhere, I'd be less inclined to judge. God knows what's going on in that blurry, seconds-long footage.

That mom reminds me of this one mom that punched her toddler that was in a carseat repeatedly in a parking lot. It was brutal.

I completely agree. I've known a child or two that are downright . And sometimes out of control kids grow to be out of control teens/adults. I know this, my cousin is a prime example and now she's on an actual restraining order from her own mother. No way I'm judging that footage without more info. [Edited 8/13/09 16:27pm]

^ y'all are trippin with this "i gotta see the whole footage" attitude. what do you want to see? the kids screaming? moms slapping the little tyke? How would any of that make what this woman did acceptable?
There is no way in hell that any child that age and that size needs to be dragged across the floor of a store like some dirty mop. Out of control kids often, not always, but often have out of control parents. Kids don't ask to be born so these parents who can't control their own tempers yet alone that of a little kid need to think before they start spreading the unprotected love. Nobody said parenting was easy and all kids get bratty from time to time, it's their nature, but that doesn't mean parents have to respond in a bratty way and treat their kids like something less than a human being. I mean unless the kid is all Linda Blair stabbing itself in the hoohah and puking up green shit then why can't these parents just give the kid a regular spank on the behind and some heavy duty scolding then carry the little one out of the store. I'm sorry but that dragging is just You wouldn't do a dog that way.
