Carrie Bradshaw is the dumbest single broad to ever be on TV. I love the show, but the more I watch it, the madder I'm getting. Yet I can't stop myself.

Anyway, this is the first time I'm watching the whole series since seeing the movie. So, now I'm watching the old episodes knowing what Big did to her in the movie and the fact that she marries him ANYWAY.

I'm on season 3 where she starts cheating on Aidan with Big and it's all so disgustingly triflin' and annoying knowing that she marries this asshole after all. Plus, the irony of ironies was her criticizing Natasha's wedding announcement saying some shit like, "That's all her, Big isn't anywhere in that wedding." Really, bitch, ain't THAT ironical???

Yeah, Carrie can be annoying as hell. If you think about it, she really has to be one of the most unlikable lead characters ever in television. By seasons five and six, no matter what was going on in her friends' lives, she managed to turn the conversation around to herself and her own silly ass problems. Didn't matter if her friends were trying to raise a baby while being brokenhearted about the ex, converting to a new religion, or battling breast cancer. It was all about Carrie. Give me Miranda any day: tough, raw, honest, and no bullshit. That's my girl on that show.


P.S. I still love Carrie anyway.

True. I'm willing to give her some slack being that she IS the focal point of the show so it makes sense that she'd be somewhat self-centered. (I'm watching her show up LATE to Charlotte's wedding right now, what maid of honor does that? And why the HELL would she tell Aidan about Big a few hours before Char's wedding???) BUT damn, the choices she makes are glaringly idiotic. I think what's doing me in is watching so many eps back to back so it's even more obvious as opposed to when it originally aired I had a week to digest her shenanigans and it didn't seem as bad.

Oh and cosign about Miranda. I totally identify most with her. I even had my own sweet as pie, underachieving Steve. But at least I had the good sense not to marry him.

I'm up to Season 4 and it's just dawned on me that EVERY season Carrie and Big got together and broke up at least once. Unbelievable. Are there really women out there who would get with a dude that does her dirty that MANY times yet marry him anyway???

The fact that she even liked Alexander Petrofsky was weird to me, I hated his obnoxious ass from the get go. I hated the fact that she cheated on Aiden.
I also thought that it was way weird that they made her be so computer and cell phone illiterate. She had no idea what backing -up her computer was, and she hated the idea of cell phone's or even e-mail??!! WTF?

Earlier I watched the ep when Miranda's neck/back went out and Aidan came to pick her naked body up off the floor. Could you imagine Big doing that??? Carrie is one dumb ass hussy.

Another think I'm noticing with watching so many eps at once is just how many dudes she slept with. I'd say she slept with as many if not more than Samantha yet they always had Carrie looking at Sam sideways for being promiscuous.

exactly. she's just become totally dislikeable post aidan. at 1st i thought maybe i disliked her that much coz i feel too strongly about assholery but then i remembered i actually forgave miranda for all she's done to poor nerdy boy and then steve (whom i adore btw),, i guess carrie just lacked the honesty/relatability that miranda had.

Bradshaw is as dumb as a box o' bananas but the only reason I ever really followed along was because of the first part of the title...

The slap was a completely bullshit writer's construct in the last episode too. It wasn't in keeping with his character and served absolutely no purpose considering she was already making up her mind to leave him.

I guess I don't hate the Russian but I do hate what he represents in Carrie's life: That by this far into the show, she hadn't learned anything, was still able to let a man oveshadow her, and completely gave up her own identity in the name of "love" or something. It was a shame considering the heights the show was able to reach in so many other areas.

I agree completely. I actually liked him MUCH more than Big. He made an effort from the start to include her into HIS life something Big never did. Instead of riding the wave to wherever it took her this heffa obsesses over how he compared to Big and what her friends think about him. At 40 why the fuck do you still care??? Within the context of her history with Big and bending over backwards to appease him I hear what you mean about her being overshadowed and giving up her identity. BUT in the case of the Russian, he was offering her a chance to see the world, with a guy she loved who was richer than a muthafucka.
