The ball's in your court, Dan. lol

It has the ill executed windows registry. lock! lol

And all macbooks have built in webcams. The finger print ID sounds good, but I'm not sure how inconvenient typing a computer password really is.

For me it's about the day to day use of the machine and I do a lot of video editing and uploading to youtube. So I'm all for mac.

HP make good laptops though. I had had to buy a PC and the Sony I wanted wasn't available, I'd be in good hands with hp.

get a mac

The webcam's not an ish for me (don't own one now and don't plan to). The fingerprint thing's cool, but not a huge selling point for me.

Haven't edited any video on a computer since the '90s.

I'm assuming you still can't right-click on a Mac? How the fuck does that work, these days?

Yes, you can right-click on a Mac. You can also do scrolling and gestures. Check out this video:

Thanks, Alex!

I didn't go down the apple route due to price, despite being an apple girl since 92.

HDMI is a connector like DVI or component or AV, but it handles both audio and video in one cord. It would allow you to hook your computer to an HDTV with one cable.

Ohhhhh!! Thanks for that. I think I have an HD Kodak vid camera that lets me do that.

nod Netflix also streams to their own Roku set-top box as well as TiVo HD (how I use it) and Xbox 360.

I can't find the combo I want:

- scroll bar on touchpad
- HDMI
- backlit keyboard
- Blu-ray

sad

Some Vaio's might have all this - it's becoming a bit of a blur at this point - but the placing of their shift keys is UNGODLY! shake

both my VAIO laptops have HDMI out and the right side of the trackpad acts as a scroll swipe. Blu-ray isn't that important to me, but I wish I had backlit keys. sigh

But I love my laptops. mushy

I just got back from the 'puter store and it seems like the PC laptops that have the features I want (Vaio, HP) now have the left shift-key in a fucked up position. pissed They've inserted this new-fangled slash key in between the 'A' and the shift. pissed It is fucking annoying!

I don't think I can work with that. wall
