Growing up in the 80's and being a big fan of the cartoon and the toys, I was excited when I heard a live action movie was being made. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't quite do it for me. I think they got too far away from the original concept and too obsessed with making it look glossy and sexy.

I'll still check it out though. Hopefully, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Not to mention, including women for the cliche'd cat fight . . .
I bet it's nothing more than action sequences implausibly strung together . . .

I saw it yesterday. It's very heavy on CGI, explosions, and lots of super military gadgets, but it's short on plot, and the story itself is disjointed, as it relies on a lot of flashbacks to flesh out what little character development is in the movie. There is a storyline about a secret government weapon which in the hands of a more skillful director and writer would have made an intensely gripping and thought-provoking movie, but since this movie is based off an 80's children's cartoon which itself is based on a line of action figures, it only serves to be used as a CGI device. It's fairly entertaining to watch, but hardly anything to write home about.

I haven't seen it. I'm not sure I want to. The reviews I've seen have not been favorable.

Well it was everything I was expecting.
Better acted than expected generally which was a surprise.

Would've been a better movie if someone involved cared have a twit about science.
(A particle physicist in Paris? Why not in Cern where there's actually a collider? And activating the warheads? [ They are packed with a shut off device but no way of arming them?] And aiming lasers at them? None of that made scientific or common sense.)

Lots of CGI. Didn't need all the background except the babe and her brother. No one was caring.
Opening sequence - Why not helicopter the case to wherever? It's not so big that it has to go by truck.

I'll watch it again on cable, but nothing I need to own.
