1. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell ?
No. it's not that deep.

2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ?
I always have music going. Sometimes it's other folks' stuff. Sometimes it's mine. Sometimes it's something that's just playing in my head or spirit, waiting to be written.

3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? ?
I've shared musical faves, but I can easily still have tastes that others don't share.

4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ?
On a simple level, anyone else who's at Prince.org. lol I'd say theAudience, blackguitaristz, paligap and Adisa would be close, if I were to guess.

5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? ?
I'm least discriminating in the GD forum. Doesn't matter.

6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers ?
Imago, I laugh at you every day.

7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful ?
Too many to list.

8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times ?
Yes, a clock and a picture given to me by two ex-girlfriends. Both are on my mantle.

9. What songs remind you of really good times ?
Hard to say. I don't file music away like that.

10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications ?
No matter how cool folks think theAudience is, he's more so in person. And, Adisa is funnier in person, too.

11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging ?
I multi-task while orging. I'm most often practicing music, when I org.

12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died ?
I was driving home from work, when I heard about it on the radio. I almost pulled off to the side of the highway to deal with it.

13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live ?
On more than one occasion, in more than one part of the United States. Yes.

14. Other than the city in which you live, what is your favorite city and why ?

I'm torn between Baltimore and Tucson. Both have their own brand of beauty.

15. The Witches of ORGwick - Scurge of the org or delightful fun…or what the hell are you talking about, Dan ?
What?

16. What is the hardest that you've laughed recently? ?
Last week, I met and had a wonderful conversation with a beautiful woman I thought was really cool, only to find out she was a buddy's ex-fiancee (about whom I'd heard some not-so-great things). Life is funny.

17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently ?
A Cali girl gave me a patchouli candle, not long after a totally unrelated Cali girl told me she wanted to give me a patchouli candle. It was thoughtful of both, but it got me thinking about the giver, if that makes sense.

18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not) ?

I was raised in a Christian household. But it wasn't until I went away to college that I began to commit to praying about seemingly random things and seeing God respond in the most amazing ways. The Bible's taken on all sorts of credibility with me, because of these and subsequent miracles.

The AUGUST 2009 QUESTIONAIRE
1. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell ? Not as an adult, I don’t think. I’m sure I had a few silly little arguments with my sisters over their absurd taste in music when I was a teenager.

2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ? I generally always have music playing except during office hours. These days I generally just play music I’ve known for years: I stopped following new music closely about two years ago when my job really took over my life.

3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? Not generally: I’ve pretty much made my peace with the fact that nobody I know likes things that I like. Once in a while I’ll make one of my staff listen to one of the weirder albums I keep in my office, like Sun City Girls or Scott Walker’s Tilt. Those records are totally foreign and outside anything most people have encountered, & I like seeing their reactions.

4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ? I think I share a lot of common ground with MendesCity & Shapeshifter. I don’t think I have much in common with Tron, Sextonseven, Anxiety or Moonbeam, but I think we have similar DNA coding when it comes to music if that makes any sense.

9. What songs remind you of really good times ? I’m not a big fan of the band anymore, but every time I hear The Cure’s Close To Me I’m reminded of a really fun, uniquely enjoyable night I had with a few high school friends post-graduation.

11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging ? I lurk in the music: non-prince forum almost every day, but I don’t seem to have much to add to the conversations anymore.

12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died ? It was a normal work day. The only thing unusual about it was that I was given a ride home by a co-worker that day (I usually walk) & was in his car when we heard a report come over the radio. Everything was still rumours & conjecture at that point. I remember being a little shocked for a second, then thinking that this wasn’t really surprising news in the least.

13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live ? Yes – In fact I believe we had snow in May about 12 years ago.

17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently ? Not a gift as such, but one of my employees recently said “my family & I really appreciate everything you’ve done for me” when I allowed her to take some time off at our period end to go to an out-of-town wedding, and I found that incredibly gratifying.

18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not) ? Once I got out of the Santa/Easter Bunny phase of my life, the notion of god seemed like a complete non-starter. I couldn’t accept the mechanics of it at all, and I still can’t. I think I’ve coloured in the details in my views since then, but the fundamental reasons I hold those views are the same now as they were when I was ten.

4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours?
My ex-bf who's an orger, but hardly ever goes here is probably the one person on earth who has nearly the same taste in music I have. I cannot think of any other orger. One myspace/facebook friend of mine is so close to my taste too that it is almost scary.

I get annoyed because she's always a little "off"- flat or something. Then when she starts yelling and jumping and sweating, people will say, "Whoo! Mary sang that song!" rolleyes
Nooooo, she didn't. She was flat, then she started yelling off-key. hrmph

That's just my opinion, of course! razz

1. Why is your friend not one of your closest friends now? I have a friend who cut me out of facebook and myspace. I've known this girl since she was 19 and I was 20. We used to sleep together even when there was no sex involved--just to be together with company. And about 3 years ago she became a right-wing ideologue--like out of the blue. She kept sending me propaganda that was all based on silly lies and whatnot, and when I finally asked her to stop sending politically related stuff to me, I thought that was the end of that. I mean, I have friends who are VERY different from me in my views of the world, but we don't argue over politics and respect each other's space. Apparently, this was too much for her, and she hasn't spoken to me since.

2. You had an org boyfriend? omfg. Did you meet here on the org? Is the fact he doesn't come here anymore a relief, disappointing, or of no consequence to you? confuse

1. Because of these discussions about Prince and because of other stupid discussions lol. We were both really stubborn and brought out the very worst of ourselves. After having met my bf he (my bf) usually was with us when we were meeting (while his gf hardly ever joined us) and my bf was the one who we wanted to be the judge who is right lol. The situation got worse, so we more or less stopped seeing each other before we would no longer like each other. We were really close for many years, he was like an older brother for me, very protective. I need to call him one day and keep him updated on my current crazy life I guess hmmm.

2. No we did not meet here, he was the one who introduced me to this place. He hardly ever came here ever, so nothing has changed. He used to post frequently on the PML and PPML, but kinda lost interest when the org started. He came here most of the time only when I told him to lol. But since he never reads anything here anymore if I don't send him a link to it and since we are no longer together I don't worry what he might think about my posts anymore.

I know it's not funny but falloff

I think the situation is different between me and my friend. We're so radically different now than we were in our 20s that we could possibly be acquaintances who reminisced about old times, but I'd be like a space alien to her now--it just would be too awkward.
Plus I don't like knowing what's going on in their lives once we part--it just wierds me out. My only regret is she got really upset over something I didn't mean to offend her with. So her version of our departing will always be laced with something 'awful' that I said.

I just have nightmare visions of hearing that she's converted to an angelical Christian (she lives 15 minutes from their headquaters) and I'd rather live in ignorance than know what's going on in her life that way. lol

The worst part is that we share really really close friends. lol

Hey, I know this is irrelevant, but when you met Phil and Val, did Phil seem really gay to you?

Your situation is different. And yes it is both crazy and sad. But it came to a point when we were both afraid to go for dinner as we knew we would have these stupid discussions. We get along really fine if we meet, but it is strange as we were really close once shrug.

hmmm I should ask my ex-bf if he approached him. They spent some time together alone "taking pictures" hmmm? Val and I tried to reach them as we were freezing, but they didn't answer the phone omfg! They pretended that there was no connection on that mountain and that they had been looking for us, but now that I recall that day.....omfg!

Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell?
Maybe back in middle or high school over musician crushes, but it wasn't that serious. It was funny in retrospect.

2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ?
It's mostly music I've owned for awhile with some new sprinkled in. I probably have music on 50-70% of the day.

3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? I used to, but not anymore. I've always been the one with the unique taste amongst friends.

4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ? I don't know. Anybody who loves music from the 70's-80's with a hodge podge of disco, funk, pop, new wave, freestyle, and R&B.

5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? Nobody

6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers ? I have no idea.

7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful? There are quite a few especially in P&R.

8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times ? Probably pictures

9. What songs remind you of really good times?
Anything from the mid 70's - mid 80's would remind of good times and when things were just chill and innocent.

10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications ?
Nobody has surprised me really.

11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging? I lurk alot, reading blogs, or spazzing out on applications on Facebook, and then there's just living life.
.
12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died ? I had just cleaning and I was contemplating what to eat for lunch. I turned on the radio to KGO and it was announced that he was in the hospital, but there were no other details. Then I turned on the tv to CNN and went online for updates and watched as everything unfolded. An hour later was when his death was confirmed. I was basically in shock the rest of the day and watched the news coverage and was on the computer as texting folks.

13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live ? No

14. Other than the city in which you live, what is your favorite city and why ? Chicago - always gave me a good vibe everytime I visited.
Paris - a place I've romanticized and would love to go back and really experience for a week or two.

15. The Witches of ORGwick - Scurge of the org or delightful fun…or what the hell are you talking about, Dan ? I don't get it.

16. What is the hardest that you've laughed recently? A youtube video that was posted on the org of a guy falling on the treadmill and sliding off and his shoes flew off his feet. It made me laugh so hard that I started to cry.

17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently? When I left my internship, I was given flowers, homemade breakfast, and other goodies. It was a touching end to a wonderful experience.

18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not)? I'm a church gal from conception. My views and beliefs have taken shape over the years and continues to grow. Living life has been greatest experience in learning how to stay steadfast in my beliefs in God and not allow the pressure of the world and human imperfections to affect that.

1. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell ?
Occasionally, but usually with my younger brother, who insists on saying I'm pretentious whenever I say I like something other than the stuff he likes.

2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ?
Usually about five hours a day now. Most of it is stuff I've had a while but I try to introduce myself to at least one new album (or one I haven't heard in a while) a week. Last week it was four.

3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? ?
I like to share with people. lol

4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ?
Alej and Myle and I like some of the same stuff. I can't really say that anyone else on here has similar music tastes to mine, though I admire some peoples' tastes.

5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? ?
The funny people. Also, any thread titled in all caps.

6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers ?
Ohmygaw. I wish I could find the list I made before but just off the top of my head: Fauxie, Myle, Imago, Anxiety, johnart, PunkMistress, JustErin, Christopher, Dancewme, and on and on.

7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful ?
Tame has taught me a lot more than I knew before about abnormal psychology. Other than that I'm too lazy to answer this one.

8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times ?
A lighter and a duffel bag. Don't even ask.

9. What songs remind you of really good times ?
Ave Maria and anything by Queen.

10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications ?
No one has really ever surprised me, except a couple of people who I assumed would find me completely ridiculous and we later turned out to be friends. lol

11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging ?
Usually I have other things to do. Nine times out of ten it's moving. The rest of the time I've just decided I need a break from the internet/socialization in general.

12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died ?
Packing some boxes.

13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live ?
Not that I know of. It has in some places I used to live.

14. Other than the city in which you live, what is your favorite city and why ?
No idea. I liked Columbus in a way; I definitely miss it there. I don't travel a lot for leisure, so I don't really know. I guess I liked Orlando.

15. The Witches of ORGwick - Scurge of the org or delightful fun…or what the hell are you talking about, Dan ?
Delightful. nod nod nod

16. What is the hardest that you've laughed recently? ?
I drew a stupid ass picture and I couldn't quit laughing at the result. shrug

17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently ?
A book. I love books.

18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not) ?
Growing up listening to people and observing as much as I could. When I was about ten, I paid much attention to the religion that my mother wanted to be part of and I decided I wanted nothing to do with it. That caused me to start thinking about what I did and didn't believe, and that was all.

STORY

lol Not much to tell really. It was a few months back and Mon was being naughty, going out to do stuff in the daytime and ending up at Khao San Road, not coming home 'til late. I'd had a couple of beers myself and I threw the picture off the balcony after she came back and we argued. The frame's all chipped and scratched and there's one relatively small rip in the picture. Could've been a lot worse! I think we'll replace the frame at some point since they're pretty cheap, and probably just leave the picture the way it is. lol Can always get another print too.

I was 2 when we left, and we lived 5 years in Luzern Switzerland (but spending our summers back home) before coming to Australia. It was 15 years before I went back "home", and I've only been back 3 times in total. It has a profound effect on me, probably less from the reality than my fantasy of this place.

1. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell ?
Have a huge row with people over Michael Jackson all the time, mostly ignorant shits who thought he was a paedophile and guilty, when he sure as hell wasn't.
2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ?
Quite a lot, its at the gym, at college between classes, walks and late at night on the computer, 10+ hours a week, mostly Prince and MJ, and some camp disco and ballad songs here and there.

3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? ? Very unique, had same friends for years, although have lots of acquaintances.

4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ?
ChiliChocolate possibly and maybe u Imago

5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? ?Probably Ernestsewell, because he sounds more mature and grown up, Alej cause hes just funny, and yours imago, also dig Dave 1992 and Zombie Kitten.

6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers ?
Imago and Alej (Especially the tranny photos of Prince he puts up)

7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful ?
Definitely SWA as she knows a lot about Prince and MJ and her posts are always interesting, she offers her views on things and is always happy for everyone else to voice their own opinions.

8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times ?
Photos and heirlooms of my mother as she died of cancer two years ago, but they remind me of the good times too (Mostly , "I can't wait til I am old enough to get that shit into my OWN house")

9. What songs remind you of really good times ? Hold Me Now by the Thompson twins (When I was 7 or 8 and just really happy as a kid) Michael Jackson songs from Thriller because I remember watching the videos as a 6 and 7 year old and being in awe of him. Things were simpler then.

10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications ?
SWA because they are really deep, some others I won't name who seem to jump down your throat and report you to mods who ban you for a few days, over anything even mildly racial. Sometimes I think H.Rap Brown runs this site.

11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging ? Life outside of the org is very full on for me, teacher training, house and grounds, stamps our cat and my family occupy my time along with thegym and my nature photography.

12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died ? At college unknown as in NZ we are 19 hours ahead of LA time and it was Friday the 26th he died here, about 9.30am got a text and couldn't believe it. Nearly bopped someone when they told me the Farrah Fawcett joke later that day, I am still working through MJ's death now.

13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live ? Yes, April 3rd 1992 in Christchurch, there was a really cold southerly storm that bought sleet to sea level (The earliest snow ever in Christchurch. It also snowed at Darfield, 30 km inland from Christchurch on April 10 2006 ( I visited an aunty then and saw it)

14. Other than the city in which you live, what is your favorite city and why ? Melbourne, Australia as its got so much chaacter and charm, easy to get around and lots to do as well as good friends.

15. The Witches of ORGwick - Scurge of the org or delightful fun…or what the hell are you talking about, Dan ? ?????

16. What is the hardest that you've laughed recently? ? At some old ass Jamie Foxx sketches off In Loving Colour, his little Richard imitation was crazy, hes funny that Jamie Foxx, some of the shit in Family guy really gets me going too.

17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently ? My partner got me not one but two weather stations last Christmas and I have been recording and waxing lyrical over the data since.

18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not) ? I was baptised a Catholic but never really got into like my mother and aunty (Who is hardcore) as it does not match with my sexuality, lately I have been interested in the Jewishness of my partner (His grandmother was Jewish) and various Quaker beliefs.
