1. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell ?
yup. In high school, my friend Amy got pissed at me and another friend cause we were getting sick of her bumpin' Bob Marley all the time. She started screaming, "you like Prince and the Cure. What are they compared to Bob? N-O-T-H-I-N-G". "Bob is a LEGEND!! A LEGEND!! L. E. G. E. N. D. , legend!!!" It was ridiculous 2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ? Lately at least a couple of hours a day. I went for the better part of last year, only listening to music at the gym or at the clubs. 3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? ? I used to like to share, but now I don't care either way. 4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ? TRON about 80% similar. Carrie about the same. tackam about 90% similar 5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? ? Fauxie, Carrie, Anxiety, Witches of Orgwick, johnart, Zombiekitten, Byron, Lammastide, and JDInteractive when he choses to start threads 6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers ? Fauxie, Anxiety, Johnart, Alej/Prot/InsatiableC, Christopher, rusing07 , CarrieCee, SinisterPooptastic, Supa, and Tame 7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful ? Always, TheAudience. I mean, always. 8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times ? oh yes. I keep them in the closet. And cover them with a blanket 9. What songs remind you of really good times ? Get In2 the Groove - Madonna . One of my favorite songs from the 80s, it reminds me of my vacations in Clearwater beach Florida. Also, Pop Life by Prince which was out around the same time reminds me of Florida. 10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications ? Carrie. Girl is wild. 11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging ? When I don't post, I'm not lurking. I'm somewhere else. 12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died ? I had just gotten to my hotel room in Bangkok and turned the T.V. on. 13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live ? Not in Tampa .... nor Germany or any of the 'colder' places I've been. 14. Other than the city in which you live, what is your favorite city and why ? God, too many too really say with certainty, but Bournemouth England comes very close. It is an absolutely lovely town with lovely people and a gorgeous park. The beach is beautiful too, though I imagine the water is too cold for me 15. The Witches of Eastwick - Scurge of the org or delightful fun…or what the hell are you talking about, Dan ? Love 'em 16. What is the hardest that you've laughed recently? ? OMG, one night when some guys took me out to the Silom area of Bangkok--I'm not even going into detail, but I laughed so damned hard I almost chocked. Also, I did alot of giggling recently with Fauxie at Prince's expense 17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently ? My aunt got ahold of a Buddhist pendent that is going to be made into a necklace for me. Apparently the monk she got it from doesn't give away many of them so it was hard to get. No matter, I'm touching base with my faith again, and this was given to me just at the right time. 18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not) ? I woke up one day about 7 years ago, and realized life is full of pain. I mean, it hit me like a ton of brickes---everything in my life was going well. I had a nice girlfriend, a new job that I loved, and a great social life, etc. etc. But I just woke up with this profound sense that life was broken. That all my efforts, all my worries, all my joys--meaningless in the wash. For days I went through my week looking at everybody as if they were illusions...vapor. This lead me down a journey towards following buddhism. I mean, it wasn't a gradual realization for me. I literally woke up one morning and had these emotions rush through me. I never told my friends about it cause none of them understood me anyways--it would have just made things worse. However, having to internalize my struggle and search for meaning , despite it's awful and isolating drawbacks, also helped me more deeply look into myself. Only now am I touching base again with this. This time, a bit more jaded.

1. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell ?
Must've done, at some point, but nothing springs to mind. Oh, I remember DeRon playfully mocking me for my love of Utada Hikaru in the chat once, and that punk once told me he was listening to Ayumi Hamasaki! 2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while? If I'm awake say 16 hours in a day, I probably spend 5 or 6 hours of it listening to music. I'd say it's an 90/10 split of old to new. 3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? I share it to some degree. My wife has no choice but to listen to a lot of my music, and thankfully she likes it. Occasionally I like to make CDs of stuff for friends that I think they'll like, but I'm not really pushy with it. 4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours? Can't think of any. I'm sure there are plenty of soul music fans here though so someone must share my tastes. Only a handful of people like Utada Hikaru here though. 5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? Those of JustErin, Imago, JerseyKRS, Punkmistress, Alej... 6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers? Imago, Anxiety, 2the9s, Christopher come to mind, but there are a lot of funny people here, funny in so many different ways. 7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful? Byron? Insightful in a common sense way. It's common sense but we all need reminding of it. That balance is insightful since a lot of us are prone to losing proper perspective and reason. 8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times? Our wedding portrait. Not in terms of the wedding, but the rip in it reminds of me when I threw it off the balcony. 9. What songs remind you of really good times? Anything from 'Californication' reminds me of my first 2 times out here and my time in NZ. Anything from 'Songs In The Key Of Life' reminds me of my amazement and joy at stumbling upon Stevie's 70s stuff for the first time. 10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications? None in person surprised me. They were all cool, easy to get on with people like I thought they'd be. Can't think of any specific surprises on this site either, but that's probably just my poor memory. 11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging? I don't lurk. If I'm not posting I'm off doing something else. 12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died? I found out in the morning here. I was checking my Facebook and saw a few status updates that alluded to but didn't immediately indicate MJ had died. I dug a little deeper and found out. It was a regular morning. I was on the computer checking my e-mail and stuff. 13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live? No. 14. Other than the city in which you live, what is your favorite city and why? I've only ever really lived in one big city, and even now I don't really live right in it. I liked San Francisco while I was there briefly so I'll say there. Brighton's nice too. 15. The Witches of Eastwick - Scurge of the org or delightful fun…or what the hell are you talking about, Dan? Witches of Orgwick? Delightful fun! 16. What is the hardest that you've laughed recently? At my nephew's dancing. It was a slow song but he looked like he was tripping on E at a rave or something. 17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently? A bottle of whiskey on my birthday. Not so much the gift itself but that she came along and helped us make a great night of it despite not really knowing me all that well before that night. Thanks Nok! 18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not)? Reading a bit of everything and gravitating towards what made most sense to me in my life.

Ex-Moderator | 1. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate/argument over a musician or musical group IN REAL LIFE? Do tell ? Not super heated, but yeah. I can be very emphatic when I want to be.
2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ? An hour a day at the very least. Sometimes more. Sometimes LOTS more. If I had my way I'd work at a job where I could listen to music I love all the livelong day. It's mostly stuff I know, but I mix new music in about once every other week these days. 3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? ? I'd rather share my love with someone, though I prefer it's not everyone. I want my friends to like it, but the rest of the world doesn't have to. It's easier to get concert tickets that way. 4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ? Lots of them. TRON and Anxy are probably closest, though there's all kinds of stuff they're into that I'm not and vice versa. 5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? ? I look at the threads of people I know first, then it depends on the subject. 6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers ? I don't know. 7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful ? I don't know either. 8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times ? Objects? No. If there were I wouldn't keep them around. 9. What songs remind you of really good times ? Deee-Lite in general reminds me of good times. 10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications ? I was surprised how quickly I became fond of Aksel. I expected him to be kind of an ass in real life ( ) and he was far from it! And I never would have suspected how great his taste in music would be. 11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging ? I lurk a bit, yes. Usually because I know I don't have time to properly moderate, so I don't log in. 12. Where/what were you doing the day MJ died ? I was at a happy hour with a coworker. Someone texted her the news. 13. Has it ever snowed in April where you live ? It snows every April in Minneapolis. 14. Other than the city in which you live, what is your favorite city and why ? I love lots of cities. At the top of my list are San Francisco, Seattle, NYC, Manchester, Florence and Amsterdam. 15. The Witches of Eastwick - Scurge of the org or delightful fun…or what the hell are you talking about, Dan ? huh? 16. What is the hardest that you've laughed recently? ? The hardest I've laughed recently is watching Anxy do a drunken Julia Child impersonation (not necessarily intentionally) on the 4th of July. I had tears STREAMING down my face and I had to fix my make up after. 17. What is the most thoughtful gift someone has given you recently ? All gifts are thoughtful, really. And it's the thought that counts. I received a very fun and pretty bag from Shawna for my birthday and I've been using it as my main purse since then. So I'll say that. 18. How did you arrive at your religious beliefs (whether you're a believer or not) ? I don't hold any religious beliefs at all. I did not attend church as a child and while my parents and family are all lutheran I arrived at the conclusion that god didn't exist when I was about 12. Nothing's shown me otherwise since. |

- I can't stand Mary J, Blige. Her voice makes my teeth hurt! I took on a group of sistas who took MAJOR offense to the phrase, "She couldn't carry a tune with a handle". 2. How much time in a day or week do you spend listening to music? How much of it is new and how much of it is stuff you've owned a while ? - Most of the time. I only watch enough TV to see Y&R, True Blood, Weeds- and that's it for this season. If I don't have the METS game on the radio, I"m listening to music. In my car- music. Most of it is mine. Every once in a while I'll put on the radio to see what's new. I get my "new music fix" from the kids at school. 3. Do you like to share your love a band or do you prefer to be unique in your group of friends? ? - I'll share with them. But I try not to be a pain in the ass about it. 4. Which orger(s) (if you know) would you say have similar musical tastes to yours ? - Well, I know AlexdeParis and I share a love for TFF! Then there are those who are into Hendrix... I'm sure there are more... 5. Which orger's threads do you tend to migrate to, by choice or despite your best intentions? ? - I choose by titles, mostly. 6. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Who are the funniest orgers ? - It depends. 7. (POPULARITY QUESTION): Which orgers say things which you tend to find very insightful ? - It depends. 8. Are there any objects in your house that remind you of bad times ? - I usually pack them away or get rid of them. 9. What songs remind you of really good times ? - Too many to name! 10. Which orgers that you've met surprised you the most? If you haven't met any, which ones surprised you on threads/in chat/other communications ? - I've only met a couple; I don't chat, but I've had some nice orgnote exchanges.... 11. When you don't post, do you generally lurk or just have other things to do besides orging ? - Sometimes I read thru, sometimes I'm not here. 12.
