There are two sides to everything and I am no buisness woman, for sure.
I don't agree with a whole lot of things, but there are the Ronald McDonald House Charities that take in families with children who are seriously ill. Many are traveling from distances too far to come and go for treatment and many cannot afford a place to stay. I have personally/directly helped with providing dinner and a free night of arts and crafts to families/ill children here at the Ronald McDonald House here in Phoenix, I must admit. And I have seen some of our very own family and patients (from our hospital) highly benefit with this organizations ability to provide a place to stay during a very critical time in the life of their child. It's a torn situation... http://www.rmhcphoenix.co.../Itemid,1/ Plus, we had our very own original Ronald McDonald come visit the children in the hospital last week. The children loved him, for sure... To me, the smile and cheer on their faces (at that time) were very worth the moment... but we have many other positive groups come by and volunteer their time to visit and bring cheer to the patients. To me, it's the moment that counts sometimes... Then, the reality of "there may be so much more behind a story"... comes into play.

see, that's one of my biggest problems with PETA. they're so obsessed with pointing the finger and laying blame and shame, but you never really hear about anything positive they do. it's always negative, and it's always directed at others. if you love animals, support your local humane society. at least they provide services that help animals AND people.

They fail to remember that McDonalds' chicken nuggets isn't really chicken "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

If you have to stoop to the level of frightening little kids with fake blood and fake animal carcasses and a murderous Ronald McDonald then you need to reassess your marketing practices and your opinions about kids.
But McDonalds already stooped to using a clown to make kids want food from their corporate $$$ scheme that is actually harmful in many way and that food could easily and more cheaply be made at home more safely and instill more healthy constructive family values. And what PETA cares about is bringing to light their strong belief that animal life should be regarded more highly and humanely. With a core belief (value of life itself) people have done much "worse". Even killing or torturing a kid is considered okay by human beings for a cause (check todays CNN headlines). It's happening all over the world! So whether it be religion, economics, animal rights, environment... nothing is sacred for a philosophical and emotionally stirring cause. It's just a disturbing truth of human behavior. But I think demonizing McDonalds (McDowell's ) is probably a good thing in the long run. It could have roots of changing awareness for the better (past the point of animal rights). It points out just how devilish a corporation is by settling itself into the mass consciousness as a "truth" or "comfort" that is normal and part of how our world should be. Not that I personally hate McDonalds... I just would never eat there unless there was no other option. McDonalds is not cyanide for chrissakes and they've made changes to their menus. I don't see PETA doing that same shit at Taco Bell or Quiznos. You think that when these parents go to the grocery store and pick up cookies and chips and hamburger helper that those food choices are any better than Micky Dees? PETA doesn't give a damn about anything that doesn't have fur, walks on all fours, lives in the ocean or squats in a tree and lays eggs. This stunt just proves that they are fanatics. Plus I don't think killing a kid for a cause is okay by human beings. Their are fanatics in every walk of life and PETA just proves they are part of the problem and not the solution. We need to take care of our soil and ocean life so that we can yield more and better food choices. PETA should start a campaign that encourages and raises more money for public gardens, school lunch programs and cleaning up our sea waters. Leave the murdering Ronald to Rob Zombie.

Yeah, it's really a bad idea to make kids aware of what they are eating.
Bad, bad, bad. | |

i wonder how many people who are saying no big deal would feel the same if it was their kid that got one of these (if they even have kids). why not just show them the rabbit in the pot scene from fatal attraction for easter [Edited 8/9/09 6:35am]
