my husband has been given a job transfer to morgan hill, california area, so we really don't know that area at all! i've been looking online at apts. in san jose. can someone from this area tell me where is the safest area of the city to live? there are so many towns around it too, like cupertino, mountain view, santa clara, gilroy, redwood city, saratoga, etc....i don't know where to begin to look? also seems that in the san jose area the cost of living is so exspensive compared to the sacramento area where i live now!!! it's crazy to see the price of apts. there!!!

someone help me with some advice...thanks in advance!!! oh, by the way, i have one month to find a place...

UPDATE*** we found a very nice place, we move at the end of the month, very happy and excited!!! thanks for all the great tips from everyone!

I've done the move back and forth between the Bay and Sacto area it's not even funny. Rents are still lowering here, it's not as bad as it was in the past. The commute from south bay to morgan hill on 101 is kinda shitty, you might want to stay closer to south san jose if you can. Gilroy is just meh, Morgan Hill can get as hot as Sacramento.
