Bikinis & Martinis (updated/pics) This coming Saturday!
I know not a whole lot of the active posters here are from DC/MD/VA area, but if any of you lurkers are from the DC area and want to take a drive down, North Beach makes for a nice daytrip. The gallery is a 2 minute walk from the boardwalk and beach. [Edited 8/3/09 9:36am]

Major kudos to U and best of luck with the show babes...

I wish I was heading to DC cause I'll be in LA, Miami and then the WI. I'm still working on my itinerary because it's all on staff travel so if plans do change four or more cocktails sounds like a memorable occasion to me...

Black, or camel brown? I have yet to buy a raspberry one - too clichéd. [...i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...]

Did I give you the idea to promote your exhibition on the org? In that case I want my cut!
I'm sure it'll be a fun event. The sample pieces on the flyer/poster look great. The women remind me a little bit of Fernand Leger's work.

You just posted yours a few days before I was ready to post mine. I've been posting and talking about my work since I got here. See my sig. And I promote my work on various sites on the net. A large percentage of my sales occur that way. Fernand Leger is one of my biggest influences. I wish I could see your exhibit in person.

Cool. I guess I'm not totally out of the art loop then, lol. I wish I could see your exhibit in person.

LOL. Trailer, Wheel and Frame here in Houston (they sell trailers and other stuff that you can tack onto your pick-up truck) used to have a theme song that, among other things, let you know there were "chicks in bikinis, drinking martinis" at the shop from time to time.
Those guys REALLY know how to market to rednecks!

Some images from the "Bikinis & Martinis" show.
The Opening Reception went very well! Quite a few sales so far. We, of course, served martinis! I, thankfully, did not show up in a bikini. The paintings are mine, the ceramics are Mel's. Me and Mel (my show partner): Me, mel and her husband took turns bartending:

glad it went well! Thanks hun! This gallery is an old beach house (steps from the boardwalk/beach). The theme was perfect for the time (tourist season). No heavy themes this time around, just playful. Had fun putting it together.
