iPOD extraction????

Hello folks, just invested in a new ipod and really want to extract everything i've got on my old ipod, which does consist of a couple of our mans rarities and concerts etc.. now I've attempted a free trial of one of the extractors which gave me an entire 5 SONGS! Then inevitably asks me to pay up for the rest of the programme. Does anybody know any otrher way I can achieve this? Many thanks in advance

Another reason not to buy an iPod - you can't transfer files to another device, only rip the audio.

Buy a Sony Walkman MP3 Player next time.

Are you saying the songs on your old iPod are not synced from (or at least present in) your iTunes Library? If that's the case, there are plenty of free applications that copy songs off the iPod. I've used Senuti on a Mac before, but I'm not familiar with the Windows options. I do know that they iTunes files are located in a hidden folder on the iPod that you could access through your file manager.

i'm just doing this from memory, so it's not going to be exact. anyway...

check the box in itunes that says something like "use ipod as disk" -- can't remember what it is exactly.

clear your entire itunes library, but DO NOT send anything to the recycle bin

then go into your windows file directory, find it the ipod in the disk drives section, move all of those randomly titled folders from the iPod into the iTunes library folder on your computer's hard drive. you're going to want to check whatever option in iTunes that re-titles folders to artist/album titles.

go to "add folder to library" in itunes and select the itunes library folder from your desktop.

also, if you've got things that are in your iTunes that aren't in the iTunes library folder on your hard drive, move them over into that as well, or you'll have to add those individually.

Don't bother here's a FREE software program that downloads all (or whatever you want) of your itunes/videos. Someone on the org told me about this program months ago, very simple and easy to use.

iDump 1.1.2 Build 29: Free Download

Just in case you need visuals of how this software works. Same software just a an older version, built 27 or something but the same principles.
