The iPod Touch Can you build playlists on it? Or do you have to do that on a computer? I'm thinking of getting one for my parents.

You do it through itunes, on your computer. They're brilliant though, I LOVE my touch I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

You have to do it on a computer? Nope, there's not a lot you CAN do with your music once it's on the pod, except shuffle or repeat it. It has to be done through your computer. Mine is a first generation one though, so I don't know if it has changed with the later editions I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

i would hold off until after october, i read they are expected to come out with new ones in august sept or oct. so wait a moment and see. maybe the new ones will let you create playlists on them. they are expecting the new one to do even more much like an iphone.
One feature they are expecting is to be able to make phone calls through the internet on an itouch too. To make a thief, make an owner; to create crime, create laws.

You can build your own playlists on the touch using the "On the go" option, which allows you to build playlists on the ipod itself.

As I said, mine's a first generation and doesn't have that feature (OR it does have it but I haven't stumbled across it yet as I'm a complete tech-pleb!) I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

Good Luck with your selection.

Same here. I'm always, like, 'It does THAT...?' after someone else has picked up something I've bought. It plays music - and has Sonic The Hedgehog on it - that's all I need.

We wouldn't remember each other's name and wouldn't know how to switch on our Ipods but could talk nonsense all day, I'm sure - that's all you need.
