Good info,, thx.

I have a homegirl who is doing her 40th birthday there, so I decided to take my gay husband since his 40th is the following month. She mentioned 40/40 and some other spots. Caesar's recently opened up a new club called Dusk that looked GORGEOUS! But I hope they don't do like the clubs in LV and start playing Techno at midnight to get the black folks out at midnight confused neutral

I thought about the Borgata but isn't that off the boardwalk?

Oh, and Caesar's has high end stores attached to it??? innocent I wasn't aware whistling

I haven't been down there this season, so I didn't know about the new club. I'll go "school shopping" in a couple of weeks. giggle

http://www.caesarsac.com/...etail.html

The Borgata is across the bridge, right when U come into AC from White Horse Turnpike (like U know what that means, right? lol) It's off the Boardwalk with Trump Marina. They're "exclusive" to the other hotel/casinos.
Borgata has an arena- the tix are usually more expensive. My sister wanted to see Depeche Mode there till we found out there was no seating for that show. At almost $200 a ticket- STOP PLAYING! So we're just going to MSG.

Anyway, when are U going? I'd love to drive down and meet U! biggrin

Interesting. . . White Horse Turnpike. lol

We're coming the 15th of November. Yeah, we may be able to work that out. biggrin

Here's Dusk's site www.duskac.com/ If you listen to the music they have a mix of Get Ready by The Temps that I'm loving.

Yeah... there's also Black Horse Turnpike that runs from the other side. I don't know the origins of the names, tho. shrug

I checked out the site... thanks.
Was that Prince's scream I heard mixed in with "Eye of the Tiger"? lol

The Teachers' Convention in November 5-6 this year. U'll just miss the sea of curly perms, matching pantsuits and comfortable shoes! lol
One year we were down there at the same time as the Law Enforcement Convention. THAT was fun! lurking

At least they're politcally correct with their naming conventions. biggrin

Thank God for small favors. pray

I'm from NJ. I live about 2 hours from AC.
I go there in November for the Teachers' Convention (ah, the smell of polyester in autumn cloud9), and twice a year with my sister to do some serious shopping. I go to the boutiques and buy the shoes U can't find in malls around here. lurking

There is a mall there that U will love. It's connected to Caesar's- mostly designer stores. wink
There is an outlet plaza in town. Pretty cool. shrug I'm not a big outlet person.

I usually stay in Trump Taj Mahal when I'm there. I have stayed in Caesar's. Not bad. The Borgata is nice- more expensive. Never stayed there, tho, but heard the rooms are nice.
I saw Prince at Trump Marina in 1998. (just threw that in wink)

Taj Mahal has a techno club on the weekends. Kinda tacky- girls dancing in cages and stuff, a lot of bachlorette parties, but it can be fun.
I've heard the Borgata's night club is cool. nod
Oh. There's a 40-40 club on the street. My sister, friend and I went there one night after the Stevie Wonder concert, but they were going thru purses and making sistas leave extra shoes (not my flats! talk to the hand) in a big garbage barrel. OH HELL NAW! So we got out of line.... neutral
The crowd in line seemed like a ghetto hot mess anyway! rolleyes

Honestly, the town of AC is NOT that great. My sister and I walked from the outlets one evening back to our hotel. We got lost on a side street. Um, not cool. shake

The beach? Eh.

Well, that's the "Joisy Girl" synopsis.... biggrin

Awww...your gay husband. That's so sweet.mushy
Back in the day I did a few shows at a place called Studio 6, I looked it up and it's gone gone gone. All I found as far as Gay clubs was this:

When are you going - I can get there in a heartbeat excited faint - I'm across the bridge in Philly ya know! (If u don't mind me horning in boxed)

My :2cents: :

The Borgata is the best by far for rooms, shops and restaurants.
Caesars is also great for shopping: Gucci, LV, etc.

I have not been to the 40/40 club.

U like vodka right: There is a restaurant in the Tropicana called Red Square. It's a China Grill Mgmt. restaurant:

"Famous for its sub-freezing, vodka lockers,
Red Square provides fur coats for the ladies
and authentic Russian army coats for the men while visiting their private vodka
storage. Guests can also mingle at the frozen ice bar with over 130 frozen vodkas, infusions and martinis."

And the food is good too, lol

Caesar's has good restaurants too.

The beach: meh.

You don't need to go off the boardwalk - there's enough to keep you busy. it's nothing compared to Vegas tho'.

hug Oh, it's on an' poppin! The more the merrier and I'd finally get to meet you! dancing jig I'm coming in November and flying into PHL.

Yeah, I checked the Borgata but my girlfriend said it would be better to stay on the Boardwalk, even tho I'ma have a car. shrug And YESSSSS I loves me vodka.

Red Square sounds like this spot we used to have in Dallas called Nikita. The restaurant was on the street level, but it had a basement vodka lounge that felt like you needed a secret password to get into. Tres sexy. nod

When I went to Vegas last month, I heard about this new vodka lounge, Minus 5 (degrees) Ice Lounge, where EVERYTHING is made of ice, the bar, the seats, even the glasses are ice. Sounds hot, huh??? I gotta see that next time. lol

Your not gonna find hot guys there.....cept maybe the hot Italian pizza boys on the boardwalk. If ur into that sorta thing. N there's really not even that many of them in AC either.

The only fun thing to do in AC is shop n eat.
