By many accounts, he was the best receiver in the draft. But with the ninth pick, the Oakland Raiders drafted another receiver before him. Then with the tenth pick, the San Francisco Forty-Niners took Crabtree.

But Crabtree says that everyone knows he's better than the guy the Raiders took, and therefore he should get a bigger contract than that guy. Even though he was drafted after the other fellow.

Crabtree believes this so much that he says he'll sit out the 2009 season and re-enter the draft in 2010.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't ever fault a professional for trying to make as much as he can, and I doubt other professional athletes/coaches do, either. But their strategy has to grounded in logic.

Crabtree's isn't. It's based on mock drafts. The man has never caught a pass in the NFL. And while no one can figure out Al Davis, don't forget that Crabtree had a foot problem and never worked out for scouts before the draft.
