Conjoined twins share entire body!

From the NY Daily News:

Conjoined twins born in Indonesia, share one body and all vital organs except their hearts and heads

A woman in Indonesia has given birth to conjoined twin boys who share one body and all vital organs, but have separate hearts and heads, according to CNN.

The babies were delivered Thursday in the Riau province by Caesarean section and transferred to another hospital over the weekend in critical condition.

While some conjoined twins have been successfully separated, the possibility that the yet to be named boys can lead separate lives is unlikely.

"This is final. They can’t be separated," Tubagus Odih, a child surgeon at Arifin Achmad Hospital, where the babies are being cared for, told CNN.

According to New Zealand’s 3 News, the father of the conjoined twins expressed that he had no desire to subject his children to any operations as long as they remain healthy. He told the news agency that he would accept his sons as they are.

The babies share a body, lungs and limbs but have two heads and two hearts. They weighed seven pounds and were otherwise healthy, according to the Associated Press.

It's practically a two-headed baby. I wonder if they can survive into adulthood like that.

perhaps the baby was born that way for a reason. We can't know God's intent.

I used to say that all the time. I think it only serves to comfort ourselves in times of crisis and chaos and suffering.

I can't really explain what I meant (my mind was on another issue) without taking the thread on a different direction.

Let's just say that while I do believe (or hope) in a greater force than us, I do not follow that which is dictated by the bible.

If they share a stomach, that means only one of the boys has to eat for both of them to feel full. In fact they would share feelings for pretty much everything below the neck. Bizarre.

All I can think about is those young ladies they show on TLC sometimes, they almost share the same body, though not exactly since one controls and feels one side of the body and the sister controls the other. They showed them getting their drivers license, they both had to take separate test, which was interesting. Seeing them drive, even though neither feels what the other feels, that takes some serious coordination. For the most part they act like normal teenage girls. shrug I guess family plays a big part.

nod
if they can remain healthy, and their family is loving and accepting, and their lives don't turn into a freakshow, they might have a chance at contentment even happiness. You never know!

They have two hearts so I'd think that wasn't the case. Otherwise one would just have to spit his food out after chewing. sad

God didn't do that. Birth defects occur in every species and they worsen with each passing generation of life. Blame it on a host of things, polluted environment, side effects of drugs, parents being related to each other etc.
If they can split the twins without jeopardizing vital organs then maybe they will live. Otherwise there gonna be one baby after it's all said and done.

I am sure there is some way in which they know each other's thoughts. How can they agree on walking if one controls one leg and the other controls the other leg. It is fascinating.

Would it be wrong for me to ask what it must be like for them to have an orgasm? boxed Imagine having to "share" an orgasm with your sister!
