Truffaut, Bergman, Fellini, Antonioni, Kurosawa, Chaplin, Billy Wilder, Woody Allan, Eisenstein, Fasbinder, Herzog, Polanski... to name a few...

Their themes and movies...

Truffaut : the individual and his struggle to remain whole in the pursuit of happiness. The 400 Blows, Stolen Kisses, Adele H. The Last Metro...

Bergman : the individual and his struggle to understand his place in the realm of the outer and inner universe... through self-examination and analysis? The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, The Silence, Persona, Scenes from a Marriage, Fanny and Alexander.

Fellini : the strength and creativity of the individual in his bid to transcend the mundane and the absurd. La Strada, Nights of Cabiria, 8 and a half, Amarcord

Antonioni : modern life and its unsettling demands. L'Aventura, Red Desert, Blow Up.

To be continued...

Ah, and thank you for the bumping.
