.. Took her first steps today!

I thought I'd have to bribe her with chocolate buttons, like I did her big sister, but it turns out that all she needed was an empty Pepsi Max bottle

She's been standing independantly for a few weeks, getting more and more confident about not holding on to anything. Today she was stood in the kitchen, had picked up an empty bottle that I'd put next to the bin, (waiting to be crushed and put into the recycling - just in case you thought I left empty bottles lying about the house ) I had a feeling that she was going to do it...She stood for a moment... then shuffled her left foot forward... then took her first step!... ... then another... and another, then realised what she was doing, so dropped onto her bottom Of course we freaked out and made a big fuss of her!

Wow its such a wonderful exiting time as a whole new world opens up to them seeing things from a different angle and discovering things they could not see before

I remember when my son took his first steps, a fantastic moment indeed. I was very fortunate in that I had a video camera pointed at him at the time, so they were recorded too.

Thanks guys! She was mightily chuffed with herself, as was I!

She's taken a couple more steps since then, though she always waits til I'm out of the room

Unfortunately I didn't have my camera in my hand, ironically enough I had just put it down in the other room and had gone into the kitchen

She had her heart appointment today at Birmingham Children's Hospital. They've put her on another mobile ECG for a week, so she's having to schlepp that bloody thing round with her. I really wish I had the know-how to create some sort of holder, so that it can be strapped firmly and comfortably onto her, instead of trailing along on the floor, or being shoved into whatever clothing I can find to accomodate it

They're not going to take her off her medication as she's still getting SVT's fairly regularly, but once they get the results from the trace they'll be able to review the situation. They've also said that she'll probably have more problems when she hits her teens and will more than likely have to operate on her
