It was the Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight 5k. It kicks off the torchlight parade - an annual tradition of celebrating summer and the lakes in Minneapolis.

And I wasn't the last one across the finish line! woot!

I'm now training for my first 10 mile race in October.

biggrin

Yeah, I ran 800s, 1500s, 3200s and cross country in high school and hated every minute. I dreaded the meets. I don't know how I ever did it. I was a terrible runner and only did it to stay in shape for basketball because I hated running. In theory I'd like to run, but when I see people running in Central Park it reminds me of how much I hated it. lol
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

There's no actual high that I've experienced, but when I was really into it what I'd notice was that all my pain would disappear and I'd have a bunch of energy a couple times during a run. It would happen after pushing through a period where everything hurt and I was running out of gas.

So it's more of a "not low" than a high.

If that's what people mean, then yes, I get that. It's sometimes hard to get too, but now I know what you're talking about.
