I find it funny that "Rocky Balboa" wears these shoes with extremely thin and primitive soles while running through Philadelphia, and on concrete, to boot. In "Rocky 6" ( Rocky Balboa ), these shoes make a comeback, after all these years, and he runs with them again instead of wearing some high tech running shoes. I read an article the other day about training your foot muscles and it mentioned those Nike Free shoes that give you the feeling of walking barefoot, which is supposed to be healthy, and the author said that instead of buying Nike Frees , you might as well buy a pair of Converse Chucks and buy them one size too big so that it gives you that same loose feeling you have in Nike Free shoes.
The soles would still be too thin for me though.

No way in holy hell I can wear cons without insoles.

Ottensen/John/KoolEaze, I love Converse but... damn... they kill my feet. I thought it was just me!

I went away for the weekend, last year, and spent one day walking around in a pair. No problem whatsoever. As SOON as I got back to the hotel, I was in absolute agony. I literally couldn't walk - and it scared the hell out of me as I've never experienced that before. Totally unexpected. Ever since, no matter what shoes I'm wearing, if I walk long distances my feet really hurt. It's a pain. Literally.

The next day, I was in a pharmacist looking at gel insoles and ended up chatting with this sweet old lady about out aching feet. She was recommending which ones to buy. Now I know I am getting older.




Fallen arches, eh??? I may need to investigate this...

I find them narrow. I fear if I wear them for more than a few hours I'm going to lose my little toe.

I donated a burgundy and cream striped high top pair that I thought was soooo cute.
