I ran my first 5k race last night! 
It was the Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight 5k. It kicks off the torchlight parade - an annual tradition of celebrating summer and the lakes in Minneapolis. And I wasn't the last one across the finish line! 
I'm now training for my first 10 mile race in October.  |

I actually gave that bag to a friend to hold. And thanks! I'm pretty pleased! 4 months ago I couldn't run 2 blocks. I'm very happy with my progress. |

Good job!
Races are always so motivating. I got way out of running compared to my 20's, but there is a 12k here that I run almost every year, and with all the people & new scenery it gets me through what would normally be too far for me. My Legacy

I run 5k on my own all the time, but this was definitely my fastest time. It makes a big difference running with that many people and such. |

Yeah, I time myself all the time. I run really, really slow, though. But it's all about finishing for me. |
