I don't think there was any conspiracy Graycap. Most likely they just believed what they were told at the time, i.e., it was no big deal and Michael was fine. No one had any reason to doubt that story, since Michael was up and looking well within days.

Several media outlets reported that the kid who charged Michael with molesting him on his second trial said that he lied about the whole thing because his father told him to. It was a rumour for a while, but I've heard it from several different media outlets...many not tabloid-based...even heard it on the radio. Since TMZ was the first to report that Michael had passed, I'm hesitant in disagreeing with tabloids nowadays because they pay alot of people good money to find out what's going on. Some of them probably have Satan on their payrolls.
